Adaptable Ava

Hey parents and students, Adaptable Ava here!

There are lots of ways you can learn to be adaptable every day!

Please talk about how you have been an Adaptable Ava at school and at home over these next two weeks.

I can't wait to see how you can be just like me!

Rosie the School Dog

Rosie’s favourite day of the week is when she comes to school!

She loves listening to children read, helping children with their maths, visiting classes as well as showing off her tricks.

The best part is when she gets the warmest hello from the students and I get the second hello (if I’m lucky!)

K-6 students are enjoying having the library open on Thursday and Friday during recess time. Loom bands, cards, colouring in, cars and library books are all part of the fun

Parent Survey

Below is a link to our 2020 TTFM Parent Survey. Each year our number of parents participating has increased; however we still have only achieved around a 30% response. It would be incredibly valuable if all families participated in 2020.

Your feedback will to help us:

 ·         understand parents’ perspectives on their children’s experience at school, including teaching, communication and the school’s support of learning and behaviour

·         understand parents’ perspectives on activities and practices at home related to their children’s learning

·         provide evidence of areas of strength to support self-assessment and reporting

·         engage the school community in discussions to identify strategic directions for school improvement

·         establish quantitative improvement measures and help schools track achievement against them.

The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete.

YEAR 3 AND YEAR 5 CHECK-IN ASSESSMENTS

Year 3 and Year 5 students will participate in a new reading and numeracy check-in assessment in Term 3, 2020. The assessment for Year 5 will be scheduled from 17 August to 4 September 2020, and the assessment for Year 3 will be scheduled from 21 September to 23 October 2020. The Check-in assessment is a NSW Department of Education online reading and numeracy assessment available to support schools to assess and monitor Year 3 and Year 5 student learning following the period of learning from home. The Check-in assessments will supplement existing school practices to identify how students are performing in literacy and numeracy and to help teachers tailor their teaching more specifically to student needs.

Notes & Payments

Please be aware of the following payments/notes that are overdue, or that are coming up.

  • K-2 Gymnastics payments
  • PSSA payments

LOST PROPERTY

The lost property bins are now located next to the office.

There are quite a lot of clothing items, as well as drink bottles and lunch boxes which would like to be returned to their owners.

Please ask your child/ren to come and check these bins if they are missing items.

Parents are able to check the lost property bins of an afternoon, keeping in mind social distancing.

Advertisements - The school often publishes information on behalf of Community groups – parents need to decide the appropriateness of activities involving their child. It is the responsibility of each parent to research the bona fides of any organisation, in which you wish your child to be involved.

Honesty in all things

At Panania North we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and friendly school with strong and valued community links.
