We are over the halfway mark of Term 4 and our building works are almost completed.
Reception 2023 Transition Visits
In week 2, we hosted the first of our three transition school visits for our new Receptions in 2023. Families heard from Governing Council and current Reception parents and undertook a tour of the wonderful new facilities. We can’t wait to organise a time for all members of our community to come through early in 2023.
Class Placements
Class placement has commenced and we are underway organising the final structures for 2023. If your child is yet to enrol, or will be leaving at the end of this school year (R-5) please email as per the below announcement. Small changes in student numbers can impact whole-school structures.
Farewells
Our Pastoral Care Worker, Ms Tracey Beavan has been a vital part of our team supporting Wellbeing at West Lakes. Tracey has had 5 wonderful years supporting staff, students and families and has recently won a new Family Wellbeing role out in the community. We wish Tracey well in her new role and know she will be sorely missed by all. We will keep the community updated in regards to the newly appointed Pastoral Care Worker, who will commence in 2023.
At the end of this year we will also farewell Janet Massey, our Enrolment officer, who has been a valued member of staff for over 20 years and Huong Phi, our Japanese teacher who started at the beginning of this year. Both are retiring and we wish them all the best for their new adventures.
World Teachers' Day 2022
We celebrated World Teachers’ Day with a few sugary treats and new tools for school for every teacher at site. Thank you to our dedicated staff for all they do for our students, their families and each other.
Children’s Week
With wellbeing and being healthy at the heart of this years’ focus we officially opened another of our wonderful natural outdoor learning spaces. Children have loved exploring and discovering and sharing this space together respectfully and responsibly.
Vehicle Safety at Peak Times
Just a reminder to all families who drop off / pick up their children via car, to be extra vigilant in the large car parks by the school gym and at the back gate. Please do not leave small children unsupervised in vehicles and around cars during peak times. We also take this time to remind parents/carers to follow all road rules and signage at all times, and have attached the Parking zones etc below.
