TERM 1 WEEK 7, 2022

A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents / Carers,

Thank you to everyone who attended Meet the Teacher evenings recently. It was great to see parents on the school site and teachers were able to give information about class programs and plans for the year.

Congratulations to the new P&C committee. The committee consists of:

Vice president - Jamila Adams-Critchley

Treasurer - Karen Cayanan

Secretary -  Darshita Patel

The position of president was not filled and will be considered at the next meeting.

Thank you to the outgoing committee members, Erica Pitt-President, Kathleen Rollins- Vice President and Treasurer-Anu Verma. Erica and Kathleen have volunteered for P&C roles over many years and on behalf of the school community I would like to thank them for their wonderful support of the school, students and parent community. The P&C provides parents with the opportunity to have a voice in school planning and directions. Parent volunteers play an important role in the P&C and make a significant contribution to our school as a community. The contribution of parent volunteers is much appreciated.

regards,

Gabrielle Buczynski

School Captains Speech

2022 Leaders Speech – SRC Induction Assembly

Good morning, Parents, teachers, and students of Pendle Hill Public School. Our names are Mysha Atif and Tharanikaa Nesarajah and we are your school captains for 2022. Along with our School Vice-Captains Nate Sylvester and Karma Patel we would like to begin by thanking everyone for all the great support you have given us so far.

This is a huge opportunity and we pledge to carry out the role of School Captains, the responsibilities and duties that come with it to the best of our abilities. We feel grateful that we were chosen to give a small leadership speech for students. We hope our speech inspires everyone to be a good leader and

We believe that a leader is someone who demonstrates many qualities, such as teamwork, hard work, calm, selflessness Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and so on have always thought of the greater good of society. They have always led by example and have always directed people in the right direction.

What does being a great leader mean to us?

A leader is someone who always thinks and questions a situation to bring a solution. A leader never follows the herd but he or she is the one who is followed by people because of their ability to create an impact on people.

Great leaders aren’t just formed within a day or week but they are developed through years of hard work, patience, and using our mistakes to help us learn to become a better leader.

To conclude, I want to say that great leaders are not born great but they make themselves great by being selfless. They always think about the bigger picture and will always try to help people who are in trouble. We want everyone to feel safe and respected at our school as we care about their wellbeing. To be a great leader you need to be a good human first who shows kindness to every living thing around them.

As Pendle Hill School Leaders we will strive to be great leaders by encouraging all of these qualities.

Thank you.
