2-3-4 Class need your help

In Term 3 2/3/4 will be doing some weaving recycling plastic bread bags so we are asking for any clean bread bags you are able to spare. They can be sent into our classroom or given to one of the 2/3/4 students.

Thank you 2/3/4

Year 4 CAPA Day at South Grafton High School

Notes were sent home this week for all students in Year 4.  A bus will be supplied by SGHS to transport students.  Please return permission notes before Monday of next week so arrangements can be finalised. Bus pick up and drop off times will be available once we have final numbers.  There is no cost involved.

SAFE Series Workshops for K-1 Students

Students in K-1 will be taking part in the Office of the Children’s Guardian program – SAFE series beginning on 6 August 2019.  The program includes short workshop sessions one day a week over 5 weeks. This Protective Behaviours program incorporates 4 character books which support the rights of children and promote them having a voice.  Students learn to recognise safe and unsafe places, identify parts of their body that are private, help them understand their feelings and encourage them to think about five people who they trust to help them if they feel scared, sad or upset.  Further information is available on the Office of the Children’s Guardian website: https://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/child-safe-organisations/safe-series

Our Kids in the Kitchen program is on again this term beginning next Friday.  Next week we will be having Chicken & Bacon Penne and Chocolate Cake.    Please ensure your orders and payment is in by Wednesday of each week to allow for catering.  Order Forms are sent home on Thursdays each week, so look out for them in your child's bag or order on the Skoolbag app (remembering to send the money  to school in an envelope).  We are also asking for parent volunters to assist each Friday.  Please complete the form sent home today.  Thank you for your support.

Life skills and yummy food

Stage 3 students have had a wonderful time participating in KIDS IN THE KITCHEN. They have been using produce from the garden and have been learning many cooking skills and the importance of health and safety when cooking. Thank you Danny and Taro for this wonderful opportunity!

Robotics Workshop

On Wednesday all students had the opportunity to participate in an interactive robotic workshop. Each stage had a 2 hour session where they experimented with the design, manufacture, and operation of robots.
