Principal's Post

Dear Parents and Carers,

Yesterday, our hard working students had achieved their first PBL goal together. By recieving 'Buzz' tickets for displaying the appropriate focus behaviour of 'Cool under the COLA' (getting to lines in under two minutes after the bell rings). They enjoyed their extra ten minutes of recess and an ice block. For the next fortnight our focus behaviour is 'You choose it, you use it' which is about putting equipment away and using it for the purpose it is intended.

This week our students and staff have been preparing for Education Week. Our tour guides (Year 6 students) have been working with Mrs Jennings to ensure your experience is going to be awesome!

The school has been working hard with the Canteen and P&C to ensure that our school follows the healthy canteen strategy. This ensures we are promoting healthy choices and the correct portion sizes. You will soon be given a new menu that will have reduced prices due to the portion sizes being smaller. I would like to thank Megan Walsh for her support in developing a new menu that meets the criteria and our students taste buds as well as being more affordable for families.

Until next week,

Mrs Nic Williams

Positive Behaviour for Learning

Fabulous effort LEPS students and staff with keeping consistent with our focus behaviour of 'Cool Under the COLA'. The buzz through the COLA was intense as the tickets were tipped into the Buzz Box! As a result students enjoyed an extra 10 minutes of play and an ice block at recess on Tuesday afternoon.

Over the next 2 weeks our PBL focus is 'I Choose It, I Use It' for the playground and is for students to learn how to  pack up our sport  and play equipment. Yesterday proved students have an awareness of this behaviour because they had the yard clear of balls, hoops and other various play equipment within 3 minutes of the recess bell.

Through the process of building our PBL focus's our values are also being considered and whether they are relevant to the students, family and community we live in today. Therefore a number of focus groups will be looking further into our school values and what they mean to them. They may also consider other value options that they feel represent our school in 2019 and beyond.

Further information about this will be presented at a later time.

Keep BUZZING!

Did you know our canteen is run by our School P & C?

Did you know the canteen is registered for 'Work for the Dole'?

Do you have 2 hrs to spare per week, month, term?

The canteen needs volunteers and is under 'New Management'. If you could lend a hand, the canteen runs Tuesday to Friday 9am to 2pm. However, we are particularly busy between 10am and 12pm.

Children love to see their family members behind the counter. The best part is that no skills are needed! Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles are all welcome! It's also a good opportunity to share ideas for menu items.

If you have previously volunteered, we would love to see you again! Please see the office for a form to update your details.
