St Mary's Newsletter

Term 4 - Week 8 (2 December 2022)

Dear St Mary's School Community

Values in Focus: Forgiveness:

We accept apologies and give others the opportunity to do the right thing and to have another chance.

Gospel: Matthew: 3: 1-12:

In Sunday’s Gospel, John the Baptist preaches in the wilderness, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near.”  He wore clothes made of camel hair and his food was locusts and wild honey.  People came from far and wide to be baptised by him in the River Jordan.  When we prepare to meet someone very important, we want to look our best. We clean up, have a shower and put on nice clothes.  When we prepare to meet Jesus, we do a spiritual clean up – we get rid of sins that make us shabby and clothe ourselves in goodness and grace.
