Principal's Report

Term 4 Week 10, 2022

As this school year draws to a close, I would like to thank all of our community for their ongoing support of our school. It is by working in partnership that we are able to achieve the best outcomes for all our students.

In this final newsletter for the year, you will find some updates about our staff for 2023, a reminder about the Share Our Space program for the summer holidays along with some reports and photographs from last week's Year 6 Farewell dinner and the Cumberland High School Band performance we were treated to on Thursday.

I wish all our students, and their families a very safe and enjoyable summer break and look forward to seeing many of you again for a new school year in 2023.

In 2023, she will begin her new appointment as an Assistant Principal at Parramatta East Public School. Congratulations Miss Andrews. We know you will do well at PEPS, and we wish you every success.

Mr Kilpatrick. Mr Kilpatrick has worked at our school for a number of years on temporary contracts to relieve staff on leave. In 2023, he will commence a permanent appointment at Ngarala Public School. Congratulations Mr Kilpatrick, we wish you all the best for your future career.

Mrs Konstantinidis. Mrs Konstantinidis was on a temporary contract during 2022, covering a staff member on leave.  She has just been appointed permanently to Ultimo Public School, and will commence there in 2023. Mrs Konstantinidis, this is a well deserved appointment and we wish you every success.

We are excited to welcome the following teachers who will be joining our staff in 2023:

Ms Rana - Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction. Ms Rana comes to us with considerable experience and will be an excellent addition to our school. Her role is a newly created, full time position that will focus on working alongside teachers to improve academic outcomes for our students through the use of evidence based teaching practice.

Ms Gimissis - Teacher Librarian. We have not had a teacher librarian for some years now, and are delighted that Ms Gimissis has been appointed to this permanent part time role.

Ms Mo - Preschool Teacher. Ms Mo was recruited to this permanent teaching position through a competitive process. She has considerable skills and experience and we are very excited that she will be joining us.

Mrs Dhanji - Classroom Teacher. Mrs Dhanji is a very talented and experienced primary school teacher. We are delighted that she will be joining our team on a temporary basis during 2023.

Mr Bui - Classroom Teacher. Mr Bui has worked at our school previously as a casual relief teacher. Cumberland High School Band Concert

On Thursday 1st December, Rydalmere Public School had the pleasure of hosting students and teachers from Cumberland High School for a very special band concert. The concert featured Cumberland's Concert Band, Vocal Ensemble, Rock Bands and String Ensemble.

Students had a great time as they were entertained by their lead teacher Mr Andrews and were exposed to a variety of musical styles. They were also given opportunities to dance and conduct the band!

We are very grateful that we were able to provide this experience for our students.

Year 6 Farewell

On Friday evening, students in Year 5 and Year 6 donned their best smart casual outfits for the Year 6 Farewell. An evening of Hollywood Glam, hosted by the teachers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to create a memorable event. Students had a great time eating a buffet of food, dancing to great tunes, signing signature bears and listening to some inspiring speeches. We hope the Year 6 students enjoyed their special evening and will cherish the memories for years to come.

Thank you to the P&C for their generous donation and for their gifts to our graduating Year 6 students.

Special thanks go to Miss Andrews, Mr Kilpatrick, Mrs Green, Miss Connelly and Miss May, for all their hard work into making this event happen. From the incredible balloon arch, table decorations, booking and invitations, the event couldn't have run so smoothly without their help!

We would also like to thank the staff at Rydalmere FC Social who helped put together the evening and provide food and drinks on the night.
