What a lovely end to the Term. Both in the Junior and Secondary Schools, there were events that marked the season. Additionally, our ongoing support for Charity work was again in evidence with the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation, Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs and Head Above Water being the recipients of collections. Here is an excerpt from Mrs Finch outlining the impressive effort from Levi for the swim:
It was wonderful to see such great school support towards this worthy charity and I hope the swim at school today for the senior students was a huge success. I did want to share a story about my son Levi, (P6) from the Junior School and his involvement in the swim. Levi has participated in this event since its inception, with his first swim in the dark and the rain at the age of 9, with his Dad promising $5 a lap to spur him on... Levi swam 23 laps that year. Fast forward to this year, and Levi set himself a target of 60 laps. 3 days before the event he decided it would be a great idea to seek out some sponsorship with a fundraising goal of $500. The end result was 66 laps swum and over $1300 raised. We are so proud of his community spirit and commitment to this fantastic local charity. Levi also always swims proudly in his Pittwater House kit.
We are so proud of you Levi, and all the students and their families who have supported this charity.
Our Junior students rose to the occasion for the Easter Hat Parade and when the K to Year 2s returned to their classrooms, they saw that Easter Bunny had visited their room whilst they were in the Hall… and then our Years 1 and 2 students finished the Term with their swimming Carnival. A happy way to farewell the learning and wider opportunities that the Term has provided.
Now is a time for everyone to breathe and relax in ways that will complement each family’s experience across these past ten weeks.
My congratulations for the achievements of the Term past, and best wishes to you all for the Easter Recess.
