Welcome to Week 2 of what is shaping up to be a very busy term!
This afternoon we had the privilege of hearing from Dominique Du Toit who plays in the very successful Australian Women's 7s Rugby Union team. Dom spoke to the students about her journey as an athlete playing rugby union at the highest levels. She and her team have won the World Series, Commonwealth Games in Tokyo and the World Cup. Dom is an absolute inspiration to anyone who has their eyes set on big dreams. She has worked extremely hard to accomplish her goals so far and there is more to come. The team are chasing a gold medal at the Summer Olympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024. We wish her and her team the very best of luck.
Today our Year 6 students headed off to the Green Connect farm. They were involved in a very exciting project, being filmed by News Asia as part of a documentary series. What an exciting, international opportunity for our students and school!
To enable our excursions and incursions to continue, it is extremely important that notes are returned on time, and payments are made on or before the due date. If you require assistance in the form of a payment plan, please ensure you make small, regular payments to the office each week or fortnight. If the total amount of the excursion is not paid prior to the excursion taking place these payments need to continue until the total is paid.
Our school is a safe and wonderful place for students to learn and play. To assist us in keeping all of our students safe, we ask that all families utilise the pedestrian gate and footpath when entering and leaving the school. This is particularly important at the Vereker Street gate. This is where staff enter and park their cars, and where delivery drivers and visitors enter and leave throughout the day. It is unsafe for children to be walking through the car park at any time. Please teach your child/ren to be safe at morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Forming good habits now, such as using the footpath and pedestrian crossing, will help our children to develop life-long road safety skills.
