Happy World Teachers' Day...

World Teachers’ Day - 30 October 2020

The international holiday of World Teachers’ Day was established by UNESCO on 5 October 1994 and has since been celebrated annually on this day in many countries of the world.

In Australia, 5 October falls during our school holidays, so we celebrate World Teachers’ Day on the last Friday of October, which is today!

Happy World Teachers’ Day to all our fabulous educators, dedicated to making a positive difference in our students’ lives. Your passion, enthusiasm and care for each and every one of our students does not go unnoticed. You are contributing to shaping our future…

Thank you for choosing to become a teacher, the most important and rewarding profession in the world (and no, I’m not biased)!

You are appreciated!

Narrative - This term, Stage One students have been planning, drafting and publishing their narratives. Everyone in 1/2C worked extremely hard to write a story about the ocean! We used Sizzling Starts, Tightening the Tension and Exciting Endings to plan our narratives. Soon, we will be working on storytelling our narratives as part of ProjectNEST!

"It made it a lot more easier than usual stories because usually I have no idea what to write about and I just have to think for 10-15 minutes about what to write about, so I write something random. This is better because it gave me the idea, I got to plan it all and then I knew what I was writing and then I could just type it on the computer which was really very quite easy."

- Henry F

"First I thought of my characters and then I tried to think of an exciting start to my story. Then, I already had my problem in mind and so I wrote that down. I liked typing my story the best because I don't normally use computers and it was special."

Gymnastics - A little known fact about 1/2C is that we are extremely good at gymnastics - it is one of our favourite parts of the week! We have all learned 12 positions for gymnastics, and really enjoyed the trampoline and the bars.
