No Pupil Fee Day in Term 4

This is the last Newsletter for the term.  Friday 27 September 2019 is the last day for term 3.  We would like to remind families that there are no pupil free days at the beginning of term 4 and students resume on Monday 14 October 2019.  We wish you all a happy and safe holiday and hope everyone will be refreshed for another hectic Term.

The Program is delivered to schools throughout NSW.  It targets children and teaches them how to live safely with dogs. A team of trained pet educators and their suitability-tested dogs present the Program at schools across NSW. The presentations are delivered using chat, role play, story and song. K/1 students were able to meet and interact with Cruze the dog.  Australia has one of the highest rates of pet ownership in the world. Most dog attacks involve children in the 0-8 age range and a high number of these attacks also occur in the home environment where children are bitten by their own dog or one known to them.  Educating children and their families ensures the child-pet relationship is not only physically and emotionally rewarding but also a safe one as well.

Stage 3 - Sydney Excursion

The final countdown is on and senior students are very excited about their excursion to Sydney.  A final packing list was sent home on Wednesday with a reminder that students are to be at the school no later than 7:45 am on Monday.   Thank you to those parents who have paid the excursion fee.  Final payment was due on Tuesday, any outstanding fees are to be paid promptly.  If you have any difficulties making this commitment, please contact the school.  Some of the attractions our students will visit are, the Sydney Opera House tour,  Captain Cook Harbour Cruise, the Powerhouse Museum, Taronga Zoo and China Town.  We are looking forward to hearing of their adventure when they return to school next term.

Choir News

The students have been having a great time this term in choir. They are singing from the choir book very strongly, and are ready to start choosing class pieces for the end of year performance.

As in past years, the Wooli Public School Students have been asked to take part in the Goanna Pulling Championships (6/10/19) by singing in the opening ceremony. This year the choir is singing Advance Australia Fair. Those students who would like to take part please meet Mel at the side of the official desk in uniform to perform. This is not a compulsory performance but it is a wonderful way for the students to represent the school to the community. I will send a start time out on the schoolbag app next week showing times.

P.S  Some children borrowed some of my wigs for the Small Schools Impact concert. I ask that those families please remember to return them to the school office.

Many Thanks

P & C News

Hi Families

Just a quick reminder that the Goanna Pulling Championships are fast approaching and we need donations of preserves (jams pickles etc) to sell at the Wooli P&C stall. If you would like to donate please bring your creations to the stall on 6/10/19. We also would appreciate volunteers to man the stall. Many hands make light work. If you think you can help,  please contact me 0488027722.

P&C Secretary

Lunch orders forms will be sent home on Friday.   Please ensure your orders and payment is in by Wednesday of each week to allow for catering.  Order Forms are sent home on Thursdays each week, so look out for them in your child's bag or order on the Skoolbag app (remembering to send the money  to school in an envelope). Thank you to those parents who have volunteered their time and a big thank you to Danny and Taro for all your voluntary time in keeping our Kids in the Kitchen program going.
