Dear Families,
We are at the end of another Term 3. It is amazing to think that another year is flying by and to be planning for 2023 (I can remember when the year 2000 was too far away to be real).
Bogan Bingo
A huge thank you to Parents & Friends who did an amazing job organising the Bogan Bingo event last weekend. It was a really successful fundraiser but, more importantly, a great night for our school community to get together and enjoy an evening. We raised about $6000 and much of that was thanks to some generous donations from members of our community and local businesses.
150th School Fair and Celebration
Make sure you have the 8th October in your calendar. Our 150th celebration will be lots of fun. Our students have all been doing units of work related to the history of MPS and have discovered all sorts of interesting information.
Athletics
If anyone has not noticed, it has been a really wet winter. This has caused havoc with athletics. Lords Oval is a swamp, and the Main Oval wasn’t available for the school to use until this week. Jen Driessen has done an incredible job this week to organise and coordinate 3 athletics carnivals this week. Support from staff, MSC students and families coming to watch have made the days really successful. The kids appreciate everyone's effort.
Planning for 2021
We are currently planning for next year, looking at staffing, structures and resources. If you know that your family are moving away at the end of the year, could you let school know as soon as possible please? If you know of any families who are planning to enroll their children at MPS next year could you ask them to contact us?
Staffing
Justine Miller (5B) is not able to finish the year with us. We are finalising staffing for 5B for next term and I will contact 5B families next week. Justine has done a wonderful job this year and we are sad to see her go. I wish her all the best.
I hope you enjoy the holidays. I look forward to students returning next term and getting stuck into all the exciting things that happen in Term 4.
Take Care,
Tom
