A very warm welcome as we return for Term 3 at Delany College. As I write, our local community and suburbs are facing the prospect of COVID-19 creating uncertainty. I want to assure you that we continue to follow the guidelines being published by the Department of Health. At this moment, staff are required to socially distance while they work in our staff rooms. Although there are no directions with respect to students at this stage, there are a number of hand sanitising stations available for everyone throughout the College. The health and safety of all is our first priority at this point - and in equal first place remains the key objective of student learning and growth.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or questions.
The Delany community
The College returns to normal operation this term. Students should be in full winter uniform. The winter uniform DOES NOT include the sports jacket, and this should not be worn.
The day commences at 8:45am and concludes at 3:05pm.
For the first six weeks of the term, students in years 7 to 10 will be participating in sporting activities on Thursday afternoons between 1pm - 3pm (and be dismissed from school at the usual time). Students in years 7 - 10 are required to wear the school sports uniform; students in years 11 and 12 are also invited to wear either the winter or sports uniform for the day.
These sporting afternoons will culminate in the College Athletics carnival to be held on Monday 31 August. More information will follow.
The academic community
This term is the beginning of the end for our Year 12 students. This is the final full term of learning at Delany, and the countdown is now on as these students approach their graduation on Tuesday 22 September. Between now and then they have to face Trial HSC exams in weeks 5 and 6, and more importantly we hope, have a brilliant final term with friends and teachers. Please keep our Year 12 students in your thoughts and prayers.
The Patrician community
Please keep in your prayers all the Patrician communities around the world. Many of the schools are in vulnerable communities and face the threat of COVID-19. Our fundraising efforts attached to Multicultural Day will support the Delany Foundation and their work in these schools and other communities.
St Patrick, pray for us.
