Student Council Event

Congratulations to our Student Councillors for organising such an amazing event last Friday. Sophie, Olivia, Capri, Callum, Mac, Taylor, Ellah, Leah, Nay and Marshall, you worked very well together to ensure this event was a success. Thank you to Miss Chantal Smart, Miss Sally Ellis and Mrs Helen Sutton for being our supervising staff. Thank you also to Lisa Brennan and Gabby Severin for sleeping over with the students. To the Kate McCreery, Rebecca Fuchsbichler, Ricki Hathway, Sarah Noakes, Cristina Abiog, Netty Rayner, Melanie Nixon, and the rest of the P&C, thank you for organising our dinner and other food supplies and helping to supervise the afternoon activities. Special mention to Trav Stanley for saving the day by swapping the gas bottle for the BBQ. Also, a big thank you to the Kalannie Caravan Park for allowing us to use their facilities for showers.

Even though it was a freezing cold night, the students all had a great time. I was very impressed with how well the young ones handled sleeping over.

Public School Review

We have received the report following our Public School Review earlier this term. I am very pleased to see many commendations in the report and congratulate the whole school community for these. There are also some areas for improvement noted, which will help to guide our next steps in whole school improvement. I encourage all parents to take the time to read the report. It can be found in the link below in this Newsletter and is also on our website/app under the ‘Parent Information’ tab. If you would like a hard copy of the report, please ask at the Office and we can print one out for you.

Semester 1 Reports

All student reports and K/PP Portfolios were sent home yesterday. Please feel free to make an appointment with teachers if there is anything in the reports that you wish to discuss.

Cross- Country

Congratulations to all students for training hard for today's Cross-Country, I am sure you will all do very well. Thank you to those parents who have offered to help with the timing. The Inter-School Cross-Country is on Friday 20th August at Meckering. Details regarding which students will be invited to attend will be sent home early next term.

Term Dates

School finishes this term on Friday 2nd July. Staff and students all return to school on Monday 19th July. We have a School Development Day on Wednesday 25th August, however all staff have traded this day off last term in preparation for our Public School Review, so the school will be closed this day for both staff and students.

Talking with our school

As a parent or carer you play a vital role in your child’s learning. Building a positive relationship between home and school plays an important part in the education of your child. Effective communication is the key to the success of this relationship. We love to hear the positives about how our school is going as well as letting us know when you have any concerns or an enquiry

Discuss your enquiry or concern with the class teacher first if it is about your child’s:

  • academic progress
  • general behaviour
  • homework
  • assessment
  • attendance
  • social or emotional wellbeing.

In your discussion with the teacher:

  • give all relevant information
  • discuss all possible outcomes for addressing your enquiry/ concern
  • settle on an option that can be achieved with input from you, the teacher and your child.

Please remember we are here to work with you for the best outcomes for your children.

Year 2/3/4 Class

Students were given an opportunity to write a procedure of their choosing. They had to present their work on a poster and include diagrams, then demonstrate their procedure to the class. We learnt: how to draw a dragster, how to do fish braids, how to make custard, how to make a sandwich and lots more. All students did a magnificent job!

Containers for Change

The P&C is a registered recipient of containers for change.  When doing your recycling please use the scheme ID:

C10350369

The P&C greatly appreciates your support!
