TWENTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR C

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke

Great crowds accompanied Jesus on his way and he turned and spoke to them. ‘If any man comes to me without hating his father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes and his own life too, he cannot be my disciple. Anyone who does not carry his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

‘And indeed, which of you here, intending to build a tower, would not first sit down and work out the cost to see if he had enough to complete it? Otherwise, if he laid the foundation and then found himself unable to finish the work, the onlookers would all start making fun of him and saying, “Here is a man who started to build and was unable to finish.” Or again, what king marching to war against another king would not first sit down and consider whether with ten thousand men he could stand up to the other who advanced against him with twenty thousand? If not, then while the other king was still a long way off, he would send envoys to sue for peace. So in the same way, none of you can be my disciple unless he gives up all his possessions.’

What is your favourite book or video?

How hard is it to choose only one answer?

Jesus tells us that choosing his way is not always easy. When might it be hard to do what Jesus asks us?

What are some good choices that we can make this week?

Peer Support - Keeping Friends.

Session 6- In this week the children explored how to join groups and how to accept others into their friendship groups. The children were engaged in activities which gave them practise to invite people to join their group, to say no in a respectful manner as well as accepting being told no. We encourage you to speak to your children about saying no in a respectful way so they do not lose friends.

Thank you

Thank you to the P&F and volunteers for organising an amazing Fathers Day breakfast and stall. Thank you to Miss Williams and the band for the beautiful performance. It was great to see so many people attend this event and we wish all Fathers and Grandfathers a great day on Sunday.

Your wonderful support is very much appreciated

Lunchtimes in the Library

If you feel like a change from the playground and might prefer something quieter some lunchtimes, come on into the library where you can play chess, build with Lego, play UNO with friends, read for enjoyment or simply write or draw just for fun.

If this interests you, then after the play bell goes at lunchtime, line up on the verandah outside the library each Tuesday and Thursday.

Compass Parent Portal FAQ

Can I enter late arrival ?

Parents can only enter whole day absences. Late arrival and early departure need to be signed in the office. Parents must accompany late children to the office to sign the late register.

Once I enter an attendance note can I edit it later?

Once the note has been saved you are unable to make further edits. Any changes can be made by contacting the school.

If we are planning on going away can I add an attendance note for the time we will be away in the future?

An attendance note can be added for future periods. However for extended leave please complete  Application for Extended Leave form located on the school website.  Application must be received prior to the student commencing leave. If approved a certificate for leave will be sent home. The school has the right to review and reject requests for extended leave applications as usual.

Why can’t I add an attendance note to explain my child’s absence after 7 days?

Explanations for periods of absence can only be provided via the portal up to seven days after the absence. After this time you will need to provide an explanation directly to the school.

Parking in Private Driveways

We have received a complaint from a local resident regarding parking yesterday. Some parents parked on a private driveway on Linton street. The driveway that runs up to the alley way from Linton street is a private driveway, please do not park on the driveway. The local resident has taken photos of the illegal parking and reported it to council.
