Kindy Concerts

Over the last two days, and in the lead up to our End of Year Concert, the Kindy classes held their concerts for their parents. It was a very entertaining two mornings and the students were very proud to be presented with certificates which celebrated their year of hard work and achievement. They were also given a lovely surprise with a visit from a very jolly character who paid a visit on the day!

Assembly

Last week we had a whole school assembly where we were entertained by the students from O’Connor ESC.  They performed the item they did at their presentation night the previous week.  It was a fantastic item which entertained all the students.  Well done to all students and staff.

The previous week saw Room 27 entertain us.  Well done to all students for their item.

There will be no assembly this week due to the End of Year Concert being held on Wednesday evening.  I hope to see you at the concert.

2019 Student Leaders

Last Thursday saw the nominees for next year's student leader positions go through the process of giving a speech and then the students in Years 3 to 5 voted.  The speeches were of a very high quality and I am sure the candidates are happy that part is now finished.  The successful nominees will be announced at the concert on Wednesday evening.

End of Year Concert

Our concert will be held on Wednesday 5th December at Centennial Park commencing at 6pm.  I know year groups are busy preparing for the night and it promises to be very entertaining for all.  I only hope the weather will be kind to us and we get a pleasant evening.  As part of fundraising for next year’s camp, parents of the Year 5 students will be holding a sausage sizzle and drink stall on the night.  Please support them as they fundraise for the event next year.  A program for the night has been sent home.  I am looking forward to a very entertaining evening.

Award Winners

Salvation Army Christmas Appeal

Christmas can be a difficult time of year for families in need. One of the most important activities of the Salvation Army is feeding the hungry. Once again, O'Connor Primary School will assist the Salvation Army in Kalgoorlie in this endeavour by participating in its annual Christmas Appeal. Please help make this another successful year by bringing in your donations of non- perishable goods to the Front Office or to your child's classroom.

Uniform Shop

The Uniform Shop is run by volunteer members of the P&C. It is normally open on a Tuesday morning and a Thursday afternoon. However, at the beginning of next year they will also be opening on Friday 1st February to allow parents to purchase uniforms before the students go back to school. This is usually an extremely busy day and, as such, any very large orders on the day will be filled after the shop has closed and parents will be contacted when they are available to be picked up.

Booklists/Contributions and Charges 2019

The booklists for 2019 are available on the Skoolbag app and website. The Contributions and Charges outline the projected costs for students to participate in school activities and the Voluntary Contribution of $60 which assists in funding equipment. Please contact the school if you have any questions. Hard copies are available in the Front Office for anyone who would like one.
