Term 4 Week 2

Principal's Message

Greetings parents, carers and community members

I cannot believe how the rain has outskirted us all week! Considering the upcoming weather forecast I am hoping that our colour run will still go ahead on Thursday 27 October. We will keep everyone posted as Week 3 progresses!

STRATEGIC IMPROVEMENT PLAN

We are currently in the consultation phase of our school's next strategic improvement plan (SIP) where we gather feedback from all of our stakeholders about the strategic directions of our school as we strive to achieve excellence in learning, teaching and leading. All staff, parents/carers and students will have an opportunity to contribute to our SIP. Students have participated in an 'Adopt, Adapt, Abandon' feedback activity this week in their class groups and student voice will also be represented during our 'world cafe' sessions.

Parents at Monday's P&C meeting also participated in an 'Adopt, Adapt, Abandon' feedback activity and all parents will be invited to contribute to a feedback survey during Week 3 of this term. We are also running a number of world cafe sessions for our parents and carers as well as our staff. If you haven't yet registered for a world cafe session please do so at the following link: https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/code/qs4cs

BANDFEST

Seven of our students represented our school at the 2022 Bandfest. They competed in the 'Developing band' section and their performance was excellent! Our budding young musicians received a highly commended on the day.

From the Office

School Bytes Permission Notes

We have been using School Bytes electronic permission notes for two terms now and they have greatly reduced our administration time.  If you would like to update the email address that the notes are sent to, please give us a call or email the school.

If you will be away while the event is on or your child cannot attend for some reason, please tick 'No' on the form where it asks if you give consent.  Then we'll know they won't be attending and we won't send reminder emails.

If you have any questions, please contact the office on 4957 1511 or email newlambton-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au.

Diwali Recognition Day

Monday 24 October is the festival of Diwali, a time for celebration and light for many of our Hindu families. We would like to acknowledge all of our students and their families who will be celebrating this event and wish you all a wonderful time on the brightest of nights. Happy Diwali!

Should students wish to, they are welcome to accessorise their school uniform on Monday with traditional accessories and these could include: dupatta, bangles, tilak, henna or hair accessories.

Fingers crossed the Colour Run can go ahead next Thursday! You can now place your BBQ order through Qkr! (slight change there). It sits under P&C/Special day. Please make sure you order under each individual child’s profile, and that they are in the correct class. This will make it run much smoother on the day. Orders will close at 5pm on Tuesday, 25/10. We still need some volunteers to help out, you can sign up here

What’s on offer:

Sausage sandwich and quelch ice stick $5

Extra sausage sandwich $3

If you are ordering a sausage sandwich to have lunch with your child it can go under their profile.

Get your 80’s gear ready, we are hosting a disco! We have filled our primary volunteer spots, but still need a few people to help out with the infants disco. You can sign up here.  Once all volunteer spots are filled, we will start selling tickets!
