UNIFORMS

Balmain Public School children are expected to wear full school uniform, including a school hat, every day. All children are required to wear full school uniform when representing the school on excursions, at sporting events or at cultural activities.

HAVE YOU ENROLLED YOUR SIBLING YET?

As per current DoE advice: Masks are an effective way of minimising the transmission of respiratory viruses and infections, and protecting our community, especially those who are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and flu. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE all students and staff wear a mask, particularly in indoor settings or when distancing is not possible. Your consideration is appreciated.

From the Principal's Desk...

Elise has had a great week as part of the State Wind Band. She performed at Sydney Town Hall, as well as the Sydney Opera House. Elise met children from all over NSW and made a new friend Oscar from Grafton Public School.

What's a Dad?

A Dad is someone who

wants to catch you before you fall

but instead picks you up,

brushes you off,

and lets you try again.

A Dad is someone who

wants to keep you from making mistakes

but instead lets you find your own way,

even though his heart breaks in silence

when you get hurt.

A Dad is someone who

holds you when you cry,

scolds you when you break the rules,

shines with pride when you succeed,

and has faith in you even when you fail.

Happy Father’s Day to all Dads and Father figures, both here on earth and flying with the angels!

Today the Balmain Juniors versed Nicholson Street. The player has of the match was Josh because he kept good speed and control of the ball and he was a team player. Our Week 6 winners...

Spotlight on...

1/2 PENGUIN!!!!

Investigations: Over the past week we have been exploring some new investigation areas. 1/2 Penguins have been working on creating interesting characters, building a safe escape for Jack from “Jack and the Beanstalk” and exploring a new sensory world. They have been very creative and have spent a lot of time developing quality work.

Maths: We have been learning about time and enjoyed creating our own clocks with paper and playdough. As we start our unit on money, we explored how many ways we can create 50c and $1 with different coins. We have been learning through open-ended tasks and helping build our collaborative skills through working in groups.

English: Stage 1 English focus has been creating information reports. We loved using our brand-new quality texts to help us learn about the difference between fact and opinion.

PDHPE: We have been joining with neighbouring classroom 1/2 Jellyfish for our sport and movement rotations. Both classes have been working hard to building new friendships as this is one of our is part of our class goals.

Book Week: Last week the Penguins paraded their fantastic Book Week costumes in front of the whole school, showing off their literary heroes in style!
