In another tricky year with some very ordinary weather events, we would like to acknowledge that this coming week, from Monday, August 1 until Friday, August 5, is Education Week. Education Week is an annual celebration of NSW public education and the achievements of local schools and students. This year’s Education Week theme is, ‘Creating Futures- education changes lives’.
In 2022, we continue to celebrate the journey students and learners take throughout the NSW Education system, focusing on how we are creating futures for our students, staff and families. From the first days in childcare to post-school pathways, our education system is preparing young people to be agile thinkers and lifelong learners. We celebrate all types of learning that occurs at all levels across our education system and we have a shared responsibility in helping to shape the lives and create the future of today’s learners.
Public education can change the lives of not just our students, but also the lives of our teachers, staff, families and communities.
As you are aware, as part of Education Week, our school usually invites our families into the school to share part of their child(ren)’s learning journeys with them. Unfortunately, due to the current public health situation, and an increased emphasis on minimising the number of people on-site, this will not be occurring in 2022. However, we will be sharing a number of learning experiences that are being undertaken by students throughout the week via snippets sent home, and hopefully also via the school’s Facebook Page and website. Coupled in with this, our teachers and students have worked hard to provide some quality work samples for Mrs Norman to compile for our eye-catching Education Week displays, which can be viewed at Westfield Tuggerah and Wyong Village Centre for all of Education week, along with the week that follows it. We thank our students, teachers and Mrs Norman for their effort in ensuring that our school is celebrated and acknowledged during this time. We hope you all take this opportunity to head down to either, or both, of those venues to check out the fine skills of your children. For those of you unable to make it, stay tuned for our correspondence next week.
