SASS Recognition Week - 24-28 August 2020

This week, we recognise, acknowledge, thank and celebrate our fabulous SAS (School Administrative and Support) staff @balmainps!

Our SAS staff are often the unsung heroes in our school; they are absolute integral members of BPS!

Our SAS staff work in the school office, in classrooms, as well as maintain and care for our school grounds and buildings.

They are often the ones to tend to students when they unwell and they ensure the efficient management of school financial and administration functions.

THANK YOU so much to Jenni, Michelle, Stella, Lynne, Ally, Erykah, Angeline, Holly B and Richard!

We appreciate everything you do to support our all students, staff, school and community!

Spotlight on...

1/2 LAVENDER!!!!!!

Lavenders working hard to think of words containing our 'w' sound of the week! We love working in groups and collaboratively, discussing a variety of known and new words that contain the Soundwaves sounds of the week!

Each week, Lavenders work together to complete grammar lessons. We love to create posters to go up on the walls; this way we can refer back and include learnt grammar in our writing.

Our focus lately has been personal goals; Lavenders are reminded to use their goals to develop their writing and learning.

We absolutely loved learning about Narrative texts! This week, we have been revising our orientation knowledge to assist in our future narrative writing skills.

PHOTO GALLERY: In maths, we have been learning about chance. It’s been great using our chance language throughout the week to assist in a deeper understanding of the content.

Here’s a proud bunch of Lavenders after completing a successful history lesson, focusing on the History of Balmain Public School. We were very curious about the how the school has changed over time and what it could have been used for in the past.

Lavenders are such a kind and joyful bunch! We have a constant focus on respect and positive communication. We work hard to ensure that we all feel included and cared for. We reflect on our interactions with our peers constantly. Our main goal is to always give it a go in our learning, so that we can reach our full potential!
