St Mary's Bulletin

Term 2 - Week 3 (15 May, 2020)

From the Principal

Dear St Mary's School Community

Project Compassion Boxes

Thank you to those families that have returned their Project Compassion boxes to the office.  If you have yet to do so could you please return your box to school by Friday, 22 May so that monies can be sent to Caritas.

School Uniform

Thank you to everyone who has ensured that their child/children are in the correct winter uniform.  There are some delays with uniform deliveries and so I understand that this may impact on some families.  While the physical Uniform Shop remains closed uniform orders can be placed via email to Jasmin at jasmin.holmes@cewa.edu.au or by accessing an order form on the school website. To streamline the ordering and collection process during this time - orders will be collated and ready for collection every Tuesday.

Car Parks

Thank you so much to all families for following the directions in place in both carparks.  Just a reminder that the front carpark is for families with children in Pre-Kindy, Kindy and Pre-primary only.  The back carpark is for those families who have children in Year One to Year Six.   This week the back carpark has flowed more smoothly - thank you to everyone who has used this carpark.  Moving forward and while parents are still not permitted on the school grounds, to ensure that traffic moves more quickly in the back carpark in the afternoon we are going to trial having two families picking up children at the same time.  To ensure that the children are safe at all times – the first car is asked to drive up to the pedestrian crossing and the second car right behind it - both cars should be within the two white poles.  If at all possible children are asked to enter vehicles from the passenger side of the car (closest to the school) only.  Adults collecting the children are asked to stay in vehicles.  Once the front two vehicles have moved on the next two can move up.  I have attached two pictures that highlight where the two vehicles should be positioned.  With everyone working together I am sure that we can make pick up a much quicker process for everyone.  Thanks in advance for your support.

Assistant Principal/Pastoral Care

I ask that you keep Mrs Riethmuller and her family in your prayers as her husband, Glenn Riethmuller is unwell and in Perth receiving treatment.  Mrs Riethmuller will be on leave for the remainder of Term Two.  Mrs O’Malley who is on leave from the Assistant Principal position will be taking on the role part-time until Mrs Riethmuller returns.

Pastoral Care

We offer our condolences to Fr Andrew Bowron and his family on the passing of his sister, Joan Bartlett who died on Monday. Father Andrew is in Busselton with his family at this time. May Joan rest in peace and may perpetual light shine on her.

God Bless and have a lovely weekend with your families,

Ms Adriana Coniglio

Principal
