Principal's Report

Congratulations, we made it through Term 1, 2022. We have had COVID, distribution of RATs and lots and lots of rain, all the while managing to keep our school functioning as normal as possible. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big WELL DONE to our incredible community. We certainly have faced a few challenges this term. I am so proud to be a part of Wyong Public School, whose community is kind and compassionate and reaches out to support one another. Wyong Public School is an exceptional place to be.

It has been so lovely to see students working hard at school, parents welcomed back into the school grounds and our assemblies back.

I wish you all a Happy Easter and hope the Easter Bunny finds you. For those that are travelling, please be safe on the roads and enjoy a relaxing time with your family.

Mrs Arnot (Relieving Principal)

Anzac

This morning, the students and staff held their ANZAC commemoration service in the hall. With the whole school in attendance, the leaders spoke of our future hopes for peace and Caleb Doran shared a poem. The choir performed a beautiful song, Always Remember. The teachers were very proud of the students, showing respect and reverence throughout. Just a reminder, the Staff and Students ae invited to participate in the Wyong Town ANZAC March on 25th April. See below of the for further inofmration.

Message Stick Assembly

On Monday seven students from years 5 & 6 travelled to Wyong Creek Public School to pass the message stick on to its new guardians. We have enjoyed our time with the message stick, sharing its unique meaning and origins through discussion. The students who participated in the ceremony represented our school with pride and confidence.

Rainbow Day

On Tuesday, Wyong Public School students banded together to show our support and raise money for Wardell Public School, a small school on the far north coast. They were recently inundated with flood waters and have lost everything. Learning from an alternative site, Alstonville Public School, the students of Wardell are still very spirited and have hope that their school life will return to normal again soon. We were able to raise $455.05 which will be spent by Wardell in the coming months. Thankyou for the overwhelming generosity of Wyong families and to the student leaders for their organisation and preparation for the day.

Stage 3 Camp

Thank you to all the parents who have paid a $70 deposit to secure their child's spot for the Stage 3 camp. Just a reminder that If you haven't paid the deposit yet, the cut off will be Friday 29th April 2022.
