Term 3 Weeks 9 and 10

Principal’s Message

Here we are at the end of another amazing, busy term full of learning for both students and staff. Lifelong learning is so important for everyone.

One of the key values we want to instil in students is respect. Respect for themselves as learners and active citizens in our community, respect for others and respect for our environment. This term we have introduced some of the principles of nature play to our playground. Students have the freedom to explore our environment, develop their creativity and work together with others to problem solve. As part of this change in our playground we have simplified our rules to 3 things to help students reflect on the problems they encounter.

We ask students 3 simple questions:

  • Could it hurt or harm me?
  • Could it hurt or harm someone else?
  • Could it hurt the environment?

These form the basis of our conversations about behaviour and are an effective way to guide students to reflect on the impact they have on others. Students develop compassion for others, respecting diversity and others points of views. It is wonderful to see these conversations developing with our students.

We hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and look forward to seeing smiling faces on Monday 14 October for the start of Term 4.

Thank you for all the support you give the staff and students - it doesn't go unnoticed.

Sport Choice Transport Requests

We are in desperate need of parents / carers to volunteer to transport to the various sport choices next term. At this stage we are unable to go ahead with sport choices as we cannot possibly get all children there with the amount of parents who have offered to transport. I understand that many people work and that’s ok, I am asking if there is someone else in your family who might be able to offer a day to enable our sports choices to go ahead.

Thank you to all the wonderful parents who are already able to transport children and have successfully completed your appendix 5 form.

There are many parents who have offered to transport, but unfortunately the car registration and or drivers licence details we have requires to be updated for the appendix 5 to still be valid. This also means we are unable to add you to the transport list until this has been rectified. Please contact the office to find out if you are unsure.

If you have not yet filled out this form, please consider doing so as we need your support.

I appreciate your time in this matter and hope that our sport choices can go ahead as it a wonderful opportunity for our students to get out and about for sport in term 4.

Kind regards

Kate Sullivan

Sam's Legacy - The Great Cycle Challenge

This October, Sam’s Legacy is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' Cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so we are riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support our challenge by making a donation through our fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Together, we can save little lives.
