Filipino Celebration Afternoon

Last Thursday, 10th June our students were treated to a very special afternoon. A huge thank you to Mrs Cristina Abiog for coordinating such a wonderful opportunity for our children. Students were split in to 3 groups with mixed years from kindy—year 6. They then rotated through 3 activities which included dance, cooking and story telling. Thank you to Uncle Dan and Aunty Cathy for demonstrating a folk dance and teaching it to our children, they absolutely loved it. Thank you to Aunty Julie and Aunty Gina for teaching the students how to cook spring rolls (both savory and sweet). What a delicious treat they were. Thank you also to Aunty Cristina for reading a wonderful story in Tagalong and English, a very important lessons was learnt. Special mention to Uncle Sotero for looking after the youngest child. The students and teachers all loved this event, we will certainly make plans to do it again and invite community members to join us next time.
