Calling for Volunteers

Our students really enjoy participating in the Commonwealth Bank School Banking program and to keep this program running in 2020 we need your help.

The program requires a volunteer School Banking Coordinator to facilitate the banking and distribution of School Banking rewards.

This only takes a small amount of your time one day a week and the Commonwealth Bank will provide support in how to run the program.  Your help with the program will greatly benefit students as they develop vital saving skills and also help our school with fundraising.

If you are interested in volunteering for this great program, please email your details (Name, Phone, availability) to sjwl@rok.catholic.edu.au

The School Banking Coordinator’s Role

The School Banking Coordinator is a volunteer and helps to facilitate the program at the school. Their role includes collecting deposits from students, facilitating the Rewards Program and depositing the money at their nearest Commonwealth Bank branch.  As a School Banking Coordinator, they are required to faithfully and diligently perform all duties pertaining to the School Banking program.

Currently we have 60 students enrolled in the program; with an average of approximately 20 students banking each week.  The position will require approximately 1.5 hours of time each week and processing of the school banking deposits are required to be completed on school premises during school office hours.

Our current coordinator Tracey Black will be available at the office each Thursday afternoon between now & end of term after 3.00pm for anyone interested in seeing the banking process.

Becoming a School Banking Coordinator

School Banking Coordinators need to register individually with the Bank prior to volunteering for the program.  This provides access to the School Banking Portal and ensures they receive all relevant communications. To register simply complete the School Banking Coordinator registration form. Available at: https://www.commbank.com.au/content/dam/commbank/personal/youth-students/school-banking/school-banking-coordinators/coordinators-materials/docs/Co-ordinator-Registration-Form-004-388_311210.pdf

As part of the School Banking Coordinator registration process, the School Principal must certify the application on behalf of the school.

Prior to assisting with the School Banking program you are required to take the time to read the School Banking Coordinator Handbook.  It provides all the information to help School Banking Coordinators run the program at their school, including maintaining students’ privacy, deposit processing procedures, the Rewards Program for students and health and safety as a volunteer.
