Principal's Report - Term 4 week1

Welcome Back

Dear parents, carers and community members,

Welcome back for Term 4. I hope that you and your families enjoyed the holiday break.

Now that we have entered the warmer months of the year, students must wear their hat to school and for any out door activities. Students who do not bring hats will have to remain under the COLA for sport and outdoor play.  Students should also apply sunscreen before school each day.

Congratulations and Farewell, Mrs Martelli

After 17 years of outstanding service at Rydalmere Public School, Mrs Martelli has been appointed Assistant Principal of Ngarala Public School, a new school in Epping that opens  in 2023.  She will be working alongside  Mrs Zadow, our former principal, who left RPS to begin the work of establishing the new school earlier this year.

Mrs Martelli's final day at Rydalmere Public School will be Friday October 21.

Starting a new school is a rare privilege and an exciting opportunity for any teacher.  However, in spite of this, I know the decision was not easy for Mrs Martelli. She remains passionate about, and enjoys her work here at RPS, and she cares deeply for our students.

Mrs Martelli is loved by our students, our staff and our community. She will be missed by us all.  The contributions she has made over the past 17 years are impossible to quantify. We have much to thank her for.

Congratulations Mrs Martelli. You deserve this opportunity, and I wish you all the best.

Our teaching staff have been invited to submit expressions of interest to be appointed Relieving  Assistant Principal for the remainder of Term 4.  A merit selection process to appoint a permanent Assistant Principal will take place this term.

Congratulations, Mrs Brett

Mrs Brett has worked in our office as a School Administrative and Support Officer (SAO) for the past 18 months. During the school holidays, I was given an opportunity to convert her role to a  permanent position. Mrs Brett has accepted the offer and has now become a permanent member of our staff.

I am delighted by this outcome and hope she will remain with us for many years.

Congratulations, Miss Andrews

Congratulations to Miss Andrews who has been appointed Assistant Principal of Parramatta East Public School starting 2023.

Miss Andrews has been our relieving assistant principal since the start of 2022, while our permanent assistant principal, Mrs Gray is on maternity leave.  Miss Andrews continues to do an outstanding job in the role and I am delighted that she has found a permanent appointment.

Miss Andrews will remain with us for the rest of this year and take up her new position in 2023.

Welcome Back, Mrs James

Mrs James has returned from maternity leave. This term, she will be with us 3-days per week providing Learning and Support, EAL/D and RFF programs.

New Carpet

During the final week of Term 3, new carpet was laid in some of our classrooms and our library.  3/4 R, 3/4 B, 1/2 T, 1/2 S and 5/6 R will all enjoy new carpet this term.

School Oval

Our school oval continues to be unusable due to damage that occurred in Terms 2,  leaving the  ground rutted and uneven, causing trip hazards.

We had planned to have it rolled flat towards the end of Term 2, but unfortunately, the weather was not on our side,  and it was deemed too soggy to proceed.

Unfortunately, the weather outlook for October is not  promising. However we will continue to regularly assess the oval's condition and arrange repair as soon as conditions allow.
