Principal's Message

Welcome to this week’s newsletter.  It will be another busy week at Lambton. We are looking forward to a fabulous Week 3 as we celebrate Education Week and Book Week, and hope that many of you will be able to join us on Tuesday for these celebrations.

COVID 19 information

This term there has continued to be a few members of our school community who have tested positive to COVID-19. If you find yourself in this situation and your child is isolating at home but well enough to complete some learning activities, digital learning resources are available to support students. There is a link to these resources on our school website.

Please note that your child should only return to school once they have completed their isolation period,  returned a negative test and they are symptom free. The following link will provide families with some additional information that may be of assistance.

Rapid Antigen Test Kits

Rapid Antigen Test Kits were sent home with the eldest child in each family last Thursday. We are awaiting delivery of further kits which prevented us from sending kits home with every student. These RATs can be used as required for symptomatic testing, such as if your child is displaying even mild symptoms.

Our school maintains a small reserve stock of RATS to support symptomatic testing. For families requiring additional kits, please call into the office to collect additional kits or contact the office and we can arrange to send kits home with your child.

Please remember that positive RAT results must be registered with Service NSW.

Band News

Term 3 is sure to be an exciting term for our school band. Our set pieces are sounding amazing. Thank you to students for your continued support in practising at home to make our band sound fabulous.

Following on from our successful Band Open Day last term, we have several students currently getting to know their instruments and practising at home and we hope they will soon be joining us at band practice. If you expressed an interest in learning an instrument and you haven’t yet heard from us, we thank you for your patience.  We will be in touch soon.

Our band will be performing at our school assembly this Thursday. Parents, carers and families are welcome to join us from 2:00 pm. We ask any visitor to follow our COVID smart measures; we strongly encourage all visitors on site to wear a mask, please only attend if you are symptom free and ensure that you check in with the QR codes provided.

Dog on School Grounds

Over the last few weeks, we have noticed that at pick-up time there have occasionally been dogs brought into the playground as parents have been waiting to collect students from school. We ask that dogs are not brought onto school grounds unless they are part of a school organised event or program. Potentially any dog can be a risk to children and some children experience fear and anxiety around dogs. If you do choose to bring your dog when collecting students, please ensure that you wait outside the school fence line.

Have a great week.

We are thrilled to be able to invite parents into the school for a number of special events, however, to allow this to go ahead, the following COVID-Safety measures will be in place during our event on Tuesday.

  • All visitors on site must check-in (QR Codes will be located outside all classrooms and at various locations around the school)

  • Visitors are to use the sanitising stations as they enter buildings
  • Visitors will only be permitted in the outdoor COLA area of the hall during the book character parade

  • Visitors are required to leave directly after the event.

We hope you can join us on Tuesday.
