From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Over the last 2 weeks we have had open and walkthrough sessions for prospective parents of 2023 enrolments.  It has been a pleasure to talk to them about the wonderful learning and wellbeing culture we have here at St. Patrick's.  Our enrolment application process can be completed online from our website this year.  We aim to have all enrolments completed by the end of June, so if you are a current family at St. Patrick's, and you have a child for Foundation next year, please complete the enrolment application at your earliest convenience.

We were very proud of our Netball and Football teams at the Moyne District Winter Sports last Friday.  They not only played well but were a great example of fairness and good sportsmanship.  Our Football team won 2 games and lost 2; The A Netball team got to the final and came second while the B Netball team won. Congratulations to all team members and their coaches.

Next Monday evening some of our Year 3 students will be making their Confirmation at St. Patrick's Church at 6.00pm.  I pray that they will be filled with the gift of the Holy Spirit as they take another step towards becoming full members of the Catholic Church.

Kind regards,

Olga Lyons, Principal

Allergy Awareness Week

Be Aware, Show You Care

Australia has the highest incidence of food allergy in the world, and it’s growing at a rapid rate. We estimate that there are 800,000 Australians with a diagnosed food allergy, and many more undiagnosed. Food Allergy Week is an initiative of Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia and is dedicated to promoting community understanding of food allergy to help protect those at risk.

A&AA are here to help. During Food Allergy Week 2022 we will be highlighting how Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia can help those with food allergy, especially those who live in rural and remote Australia who have limited access to health care.

We have a telephone help line with trained health educators to talk you through your food allergy management questions and point you in the right direction for treatment. If you subscribe to A&AA we will send you regular e-newsletters, allergen related food recalls, research opportunities and more. It's free to subscribe. Please also follow us on our social media channels.

Reaching out for help early in your food allergy journey can help to make that journey smoother. We are here to listen and to give evidence-based information and advice. We know it is difficult but it is so much easier if you have help from people who understand.

5/6S Class News

Winter Sports

Last Friday our 5/6 students attended Victoria Park in Koroit for our annual Winter Sports. We had one football team and two netball teams attend. We were expecting rain it turned out to be a beautiful day for outdoor sports. The students competed hard all day. We had one netball team go undefeated and the other make the grand final which was an excellent achievement.

As for the football team, they played four games in total. They ended up splitting the day with two wins and two losses. Both losses were only by a goal and the boys were very close to making it to the next round.

The achievements from our 5/6 students were great but it was the sportsmanship shown the entire day that was a stand out. We had multiple reports of how well behaved all students were and how they congratulated the other teams and even helped them up during the games.
