Acknowledgement of Country

We Acknowledge the Gunditjmara people, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we are gathered today.

We respect and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, past, present and future. We acknowledge their stories, traditions and living cultures on this land and commit to building a brighter future together.

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week sees the Diocese of Ballarat celebrate Catholic Education Week, with a focus on the powerful proclamation, "Share the Good News."  This statement, inspired by Mark 16:15, invites us to reflect on how we individually interpret and spread the message of Jesus Christ within our school and wider community.

The staffing battle has eased slightly with some unwell teachers able to return to classrooms but others are still needing to isolate.  We also have a large number of children unwell.  I urge parents to keep testing their children to minimise exposing others to not only COVID but the nasty flu virus that is circulating.

We have the winter sports tomorrow, so I hope the weather holds off a bit longer for that. I wish our teams all the best.

Kind regards,

Olga Lyons, Principal

World Bee Day & Canteen Garden

On Friday our sustainability leaders George and Rosie went around to each class to read the book ‘Please Please the Bees’ for World Bee Day. Classes then discussed how important bees are to us and our earth. All students were very respectful and enjoyed having a senior student come in for shared reading.

Canteen Garden - Slicing the Signs

Last week Mr Steere, Matthew and I set out to place in some signs in the garden. We realised we had no posts to hold up the ‘Keep Out’ signs, so we got out some saws and shortened some posts. Once that was done we put the safety back on, and Mr Steere finished hammering the signs to the posts. We went to the canteen garden and hammered in the signs that had some of the produce names on them. All in all, the woodwork was fun and we are one step closer to stopping the plants from being trodden on. We are hoping to finish the job sometime this week or next week.
