COVID Testing for Students Who Are Absent

I’d like to extend my thanks to our school community for complying with the Department of Education’s new guidelines about students returning to school after an absence. Your compliance once again reinforces what a supportive community we are privileged to work in.

As reported last week, if a student is away from school due to COVID-like symptoms, they will be able to return after they receive a negative COVID test and are symptom free. A copy of the negative test result is to be sent to the school prior to the student’s return. This week we implemented a new SMS messaging system to alert parents when their child is absent from school and after trialling different methods of correspondence, we are requesting parents please email a screenshot of the negative test result to  tomerong-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au. While correspondence regarding all absences should be sent to this email address, please feel free to communicate with class teachers via Class Dojo or their email regarding other classroom matters.

SASS Recognition Week

This week we are celebrating the extraordinary work of our School Administration and Support Staff (SASS). Our school’s administrative team have been working tirelessly to keep abreast of the many changes implemented without warning throughout 2020. Similarly our School Learning Support Officers continue to provide invaluable support to our students and teachers.

Our teachers, students and school community are so fortunate to have these amazing humans on our team… thank you!

Sharing Birthday Cakes in the Classroom

From time to time, parents and carers will request to send in a birthday cake so that their child can celebrate their birthday with their classmates. We’re happy for this to continue, however, in light of the new COVID regulations, we are putting in place some restrictions. We are asking parents and carers to only send in shop bought, pre-packaged, individual cup cakes. Please also make contact with your child’s classroom teacher prior to your child’s big day.

Dear Parents

Students travelling on a Shoal Bus to and from school are required to have a valid school bus pass for the school service they are catching.  If a valid school pass cannot be shown a fare will be charged.  In the event the school bus pass is lost, some form of student ID is to be shown whilst obtaining a replacement pass (fee applies). You can help make your child’s school bus journey more pleasant by ensuring your child has a valid school bus pass and presents it to the driver in the morning AND afternoon.  Parents are reminded that the School Free Travel is only valid from home to school as per the conditions on the back of the pass. Fares will be charged for all other journeys. Skateboards/Scooters/Bicycles are not permitted on the bus.

The school uniform order from School Locker has arrived.  If you are expecting a delivery to the school, please contact the office on 4443 4376.

Online Uniform Shop

All school uniforms can now be purchased online through School Locker. Items will be delivered right to your door, or to save on postage, simply select pickup from Liverpool in the delivery section on the website and your uniforms will be delivered to the school. When uniform orders arrive at school, a notice will be placed in the Bulletin.  Parents are asked to contact the school by phone or email to arrange collection. Due to the new COVID-19 guidelines, we request that parents arrange to have uniform orders sent home with their child.

Currently, due to COVID restrictions, if you are seeking to purchase second hand uniforms from our Second Hand Uniform Pool, please contact the school on 4443 4376 to arrange to have items sent home with your child.
