Woolooware Public School Newsletter

Term 1 - Week 4

Thank You!

At the end of last year our P&C generously donated $200 per class for teachers to buy resources that supplement teaching and learning programs.  It is so lovely walking into our classrooms and seeing our students benefiting from these additional resources.  Our teachers are very clever at making a little go a long way and they have bought some wonderful things.  Thank you P&C and thank you Woolooware community for helping us to do the best we can for every student.

Parent Information Sessions and P & C

It was great to see so many parents and carers at our recent information sessions.  Thank you for your attendance and enthusiasm.  For anyone that was unable to make it, feel free to introduce yourself to your child’s teacher.  We value a good working relationship between school and home and look forward to meeting you.

There will be opportunities at the end of this term for formal parent-teacher interviews also.

Last Monday we had our first P&C meeting for the year and we were delighted to see so many parents attend and engage in the meeting.  At this meeting a number of future initiatives and projects to be taken up by the new committee were discussed.  The next P&C meeting will be in week 9 of this term on Monday 23 March.  This will be the AGM and, as mentioned last week, will see all of the elected positions declared vacant.  We would love to have all roles filled at the next meeting and I encourage you to carefully consider taking on a role.  There are links below to role statements from the P&C Federation and we invite any interested members of our community to get in touch to discuss what is involved.

Student Safety is Everyone's Priority!

We have once again been made aware by members of our community that traffic around the school can become particularly congested around pick-up and drop off times.  Here are a few tips to help to keep everyone safe…

  • If you live close to school, consider leaving the car at home and walking.

  • Consider parking a couple of streets away and use the time walking to school or the car to ‘catch up’ with your child.

  • Park legally, respectfully and safely.  Parking rangers have and will issue fines for illegal parking.  Take notice of all signs and be aware that some have recently changed.

  • Follow all road rules, particularly speed restrictions/school zones and watch out for little people when pulling out and/or reversing.

We thank you for your assistance.
