THE MOST HOLY TRINITY YEAR C

A reading from the holy Gospel according to John

Jesus said to his disciples:

‘I still have many things to say to you

but they would be too much for you now.

But when the Spirit of truth comes

he will lead you to the complete truth,

since he will not be speaking as from himself

but will say only what he has learnt;

and he will tell you of the things to come.

He will glorify me,

since all he tells you

will be taken from what is mine.

Everything the Father has is mine;

that is why I said:

All he tells you

will be taken from what is mine.’

Living the Gospel – Trinity

Every time we make the sign of the cross we reaffirm our belief in a God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All Christian people profess a belief in the one God who is experienced in three distinct ways. We are baptised ‘in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit’ and we remind ourselves of this reality when we pray and when we bless ourselves or others.

Historical Context – The Nicene Creed

The definitive statement of Christian belief is contained within the Nicene Creed that is proclaimed by the community in the Mass. It was developed by the Council of Nicea, held in 325. The creed declares that Jesus is ‘God from God, light from light, true God from true God … of one being with the Father’ and that the Holy Spirit ‘proceeds from the Father and the Son’. All of these statements seek to define the oneness of the Trinitarian God.

SACRED HEART WINTER WOOLIES

This year we will again support the Vinnies Winter Appeal. If you are able to assist in supporting our least vulnerable it would be greatly appreciated. We are seeking donations of socks, beanies, gloves and scarves.

To help maintain the dignity of those who will receive these items we ask that all items donated be new and in the packages in which they were purchased.  The children can bring these items to school between 23rd May - 21st June.

This is a great opportunity for the children to spread the Good News and to show that the Church is really alive.

Open Classrooms

Parents are invited to an open day in the classrooms in Week 10, Tuesday 28th June between 9:30 am -10:45pm. We ask parents to spend no more than about 15 minutes in their child’s class so that the classrooms do not become too crowded.

This is an opportunity to see some of the wonderful work your child is doing in class.

Report Information Evening

An information evening regarding the E-A scale, reports and assessment will be held for parents in the school library on Tuesday, 21st June at 6.30pm.

This session will be particularly useful for Year 1 parents who are receiving an E-A report for the first time.

Kindergarten parents do not receive an E-A report.

Year 6 Canberra Excursion: 21-22 July 2022

Students from our school will soon be undertaking an education tour of the National Capital. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $30 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
