Principal's Report

Book Week Street Parade

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along to support our Book Week Character Street Parade. It was such a lovely feeling to have our students, staff, parents and siblings involved in such a great morning celebrating Book Week and sharing our love of reading. Thank you to parents and grandparents for your efforts with costumes! They really were amazing!

Working Bee

What an amazing community! Thank you to all of our parents and community members who came along to help out with the many and varied projects to make our school even more beautiful. Our students have enjoyed playing in some of our interactive garden spaces and the fairy garden was a huge success on Monday during garden club.

Garden Club

Thank you Laura Nelson, Lisa Mumm, Lincoln James and Jennifer Williams who have got our vegetable garden up and running again! We hope to have some produce again to use in the canteen.

Laura's vision for a fairy garden is looking amazing. We are seeking donations of any items that would be suitable to add to our fairy garden as well as some dinosaurs and insects for a future project in another space. Please let Jen know if you have anything at home that you might want to contribute to these little projects.

Science Week

Our Science Space Incursion was fantastic! The Science Shows were really interactive and it was a great way to finish off Science Week. Our 3-6 Students enjoyed the Liquid Nitrogen Show followed by a STEM Challenge and our K-2 students loved the Bubbleology Show followed by the STEM Challenge. Thank you to the P&C for funding this event.

Teaching and Learning Survey

Before we commence our journey of change in terms of Teaching and learning for 2023, I encourage parents to provide feedback about Teaching and Learning at our school to inform future directions.

This year Mrs Gripper will be supporting students to perform songs we have been learning at school. We will be learning songs to perform as a whole school, as well as a song from the KV Songbirds (School Choir). After these performances, we would like to showcase the musical talents of our students who wish to participate. These students should register their interest with Mrs Gripper and begin practicing. Mrs Gripper will hold auditions in Week 7 (Tuesday 30th August) to select students who are dedicated to showcasing their musical talents.

Buy A Paver

Part of our 150th fundraising efforts include the opportunity to have your name engraved into a paver that will be installed in a footpath in the school grounds, from the classrooms up to the oval and back areas.

We hope to end up with a great selection of pavers, representing past and present students and staff and members of the KVPS community.

There will be two options

 -pavers with text only, and

- pavers with a hand drawn picture*

To reduce our administration at the stall on the day of the event – we are encouraging the KVPS school community to make their purchase ahead of Sept 3rd.

If you are interested in purchasing a paver please email robinmoffat13@gmail.com

*Hand Drawn pavers can be paid for prior the 3rd September, however, the template will only be available to draw on, at the event.
