Principal's Message

Massive congratulations to the Year 6 students and staff for the highly successful Business Fair! What a joy it was to see the children so enthusiastic when selling their personally made products! Great fun was had by the rest of the school. The Year 6 children learned so much about developing a business from the ground up. Their marketing and sales pitches were pretty impressive.

We have some great events coming up! The student councillors are organising something super exciting and a great fundraiser for the Salvation Army on Thursday 26 May! Students and staff get your PJs and a gold coin ready! The councillors will have more information coming out soon!

Don’t forget the Walk Safely to School Day on Friday 20th. Read more about this fantastic event below.

We have been hit hard with COVID these last 2 weeks with a number or staff and many children and families testing positive. As previously communicated, teachers will continue to make contact with families regarding provision of online learning. However, due to the large number of children out in some classes and relief teachers replacing staff, this may look different across year levels and classes. Most online learning will be in the format of packages (digital) being sent home (to cater for up to 5 days). It is important to note that this work only needs to be completed if your child is well enough. There is no expectation for children to do school work if they are ill. Please let your child’s teacher know if your child is accessing the work, and they will be marked with an E (Education Program Accessed).  Otherwise, children will be assumed ill and marked accordingly.

Remember to take care of yourselves, if we can support you in any way please ask.

NAPLAN has gone very well this week! Huge thanks to Mr J for ensuring everything was well organised and ready to go on Tuesday. The children took to the assessments with such a positive attitude, they showed wonderful resilience and bounced back if they became a little flustered. Big congratulations to staff and parents for your obvious influence building on the children’s positive mindset.

Don’t forget!! Enrolments for Kindergarten and Pre-Primary are now open!! Please remember to get your enrolments in for 2023. We would appreciate it if you could spread the word to any new families in our community who have first time Kindy children to enrol.

The Adventure Play Space trades have unfortunately  also been hit by COVID so we have had some delays. Hopefully the space will be complete by the end of next week! We will let you know when the official P&C/School opening will be.

Communication is important and even more so over these past few years. It has been a vital tool to ensure our community in kept fully informed and to also provide our families with support mechanisms should they require them. Thank you to the many families who have given us such positive feedback on our communications and the positive effect it has on the community. We encourage you to continue doing so.

SkoolBag and Seesaw continue to be our main forms of communication. If you have not already done so, please join your children’s classes in these platforms to ensure you receive all current notices.

WE’RE TAKING IT IN OUR STRIDE ON FRIDAY 20 MAY 2022

Well it’s that time of year again when our school seriously starts talking about walking!

Walk Safely to School Day asks that we all consider our transport habits and try to incorporate more walking as part of a healthy, active way to get around. And although walking all the way to school isn’t realistic for many of us, it’s quite easy to figure out how you can build a walk into your family’s daily routine.
