The Gospel (Matthew 17: 1 - 3)

Jesus took Peter and the brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain. His appearance changed from the inside out, right before their eyes. Sunlight poured from his face. His clothes were filled with light. Then they realised that Moses and Elijah were also there in deep conversation with him.

... On the way to Mass

Why do you think God said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him”?

On the way home from Mass ...

What does today’s Gospel reveal to you about who Jesus is?

The Prayer

God of goodness and life, we gather in the hope and beauty of this day, to be further opened along the pathways of faith you set before us. Holy One, be our journey and destination. Question our tried and safe decisions. Prod our imaginings, and walk boldly beside us into the unknown, yet a promise-filled future. Holy One, be our journey and destination.

The Question of the Week

Staff/Parents

How has your faith in Jesus transformed you?

Primary Students

What difference does your faith in Jesus Christ make in your life?

The Action

Get ready to join in some powerful transfigurations! Ask God to change the rough, ugly, or impossible

roads in your life into freeways of grace. Invite the Holy Spirit to make the valleys smooth, and the

mountains low. When and how have you seen transfigurations in yourself, in others, or in situations

around you? “Don’t breathe a word of what you’ve seen. After the Son of Man is raised from the dead,

you are free to talk”.

2023 NSW Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more, and to read more widely. The PRC is open for all NSW students in Kindergarten to Year 9, in government, independent, Catholic and home schools.

The challenge requires children to read a certain number of books depending on their age. After books are read (or ‘read to’ for Kindergarten to Year 2 children) you or your child will need to enter the books on the PRC website using the child’s unique log in code at https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html . Please also refer to this website, click on the tabs for the rules of this challenge and the ‘Book lists’.

Students can include any books read from the end of the 2022 challenge on their 2023 reading record. The PRC rules have been updated for the 2023 challenge. Students can now include up to 10 choice books on their reading records, and can count 5 books from an approved series as PRC books.

The 2023 Premier’s Reading Challenge closes Friday 18th August for students.

If help is required on how to do the Challenge or how to navigate the website and the answer cannot be found on the PRC Support site, please contact Elizabeth Bryant via email

ebryant@parra.catholic.edu.au

Please find the link to a Google form if you do not wish to complete the paper copy.

Pets onsite

A reminder that dogs, should not be on our school grounds. While many of our children love pets, some are scared or allergic to them. We also do not know how pets will react when around other children. We ask that parents do not bring dogs or other pets on the school grounds. This is for the safety of all children. Thank you
