Wear Orange for Harmony Day - Friday, 24th March

EVERYONE BELONGS

Next Friday, March 24th we will celebrate Harmony Day at Sutton Public School.

Harmony Week is a national celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Students are invited to wear ORANGE or a celebration of their cultural heritage.

During the day students will have opportunities to learn about different cultures through play, music, activities and games.

We look forward to a fun- filled day learning about different cultures and celebrating Harmony Day together!

Our school cross country competition will be held on Friday, 31st March. This event is our competitive selection process for participation in the Primary School Sports Association’s (PSSA) Cross Country Championship. All NSW schools hold a school-based competition for this event for students from the year they turn 8 and onwards. This age constraint is consistent across all PSSA sporting pursuits.

Dear parents/carers of Year 6 students,

To enrol your child in Year 7 for 2024, you will need to complete an Expression of Interest for Year 6 to Year 7 transition. The Expression of Interest (EOI) lets you indicate which school(s) you would like your child to attend in Year 7.

The EOI process is now available online. After you submit an EOI and it has been assessed, your child will be offered a place at a high school.

If your child will not be attending a NSW Government high school next year, please let us know by completing an online Placement Not Required form. -  https://year7.enrol.education.nsw.gov.au/?schoolCode=3137 Paper copies are also available.

If you are unsure whether they will be attending a NSW Government school (you’ve applied for a private school, or you are moving interstate), we ask that you still complete an EOI and follow up with your school once a decision has been made.

The online process will guide you through your options and collect the information required to make the process as smooth as possible.

For parents/carers who are not able to complete an application online, a paper EOI form can be collected from the school office.

For more information about moving to high school, visit Going to a public school.

Public Speaking

The Rotary Club of Bungendore is again conducting its primary schools’ public speaking competition for schools in the Lake George region. It will again be divided into two sections, the first covering years 3 – 5 and the second for year 6 students only. This year we are asking students to complete this as an optional home task, to be presented at school.Students will compete against each other within their appropriate section and present their speech on Wednesday, 22nd March at 9.30pm. Parents are welcome to attend.

Please see attached for full details.

EGGShibition

We are EGGcited to announce that the “EGGcellent EASTER EGGShibition” will be returning this year for students from Years 3-6. Alongside the success of the Infants Hat Parade, the EGGShibition has proven to be a fantastic opportunity for our Primary students to showcase and EGGSplore their creativity.

Students are asked to build an egg diorama that portrays the “EGG” word as a theme. The EGGShibition is not compulsory but we encourage all students in Year 3-6 to participate and be as creative as possible.

Please see full note attached.
