Letter from the Acting Principal

It is with great excitement that I announce that we have another baby's arrival to look forward to.  I'm sure you will join me in congratulating Tess and Luke Farry as they wait for their second child to be born in February.

We are also awaiting the news of "Baby May" who is expected any day now.  Our best wishes and prayers for Stephanie and Nathan and I will be sure to pass on any news as soon as we hear.

Child Safety Code of Conduct/Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy

A printed version of the Code of Conduct was sent home yesterday (copy below also).  Parents who wish to volunteer at our school either at school events, in the classroom or on excursions must have a signed, updated Code of Conduct.  We ask that you read the Code of Conduct, sign it and return it to our school office at your earliest convenience.

Below is also the current Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy.   We ask that you read this document, but it does not need to be returned or require a signature.

Both policies are also located on the school website under the Current Parents tab.

ThinkUKnow

Dear Parents,

We have been very fortunate in being able to secure a presentation by ThinkUKnow on Thursday 25th August at 7pm and all parents and carers are encouraged to attend.  The session will conclude at 8:30pm however there will be opportunity after the session to ask any questions you may have.

ThinkUKnow Australia is an evidence based education program delivered nationally to prevent online child sexual exploitation.  ThinkUKnow Australia is a partnership between the Australian Federal Police, Microsoft Australia, Datacom and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

The presentation will be delivered by David Stevens who is a member of the Australian Federal Police (AFP). The presentation is pro-technology and addresses topics including self-generated child abuse material, online grooming, image-based abuse, sexual extortion, and importantly encourages help seeking behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn more about young people and the online environment, and how you can help them to be safe and responsible users of technology.

For more information, you can visit www.thinkuknow.org.au.

This session is for parents and carers only and therefore it is not appropriate for your children to attend with you.

A letter was sent home yesterday with your eldest child. Please return the attendance slip by Tuesday 16th August.
