Battie

We had a little visitor overnight, that flew in through an open window and made a home for himself in the office area. We rang Wildlife Victoria and was put in contact with 'Microbats of Melbourne' who came to the rescue. They provide rehabilitation for microbats and will care for our little Gould's Wattled Bat until well enough to be set free.

Financial Assistance

Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund will ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities.

School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum.

CSEF will be provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance will be paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

The annual CSEF amount per student will be:

  • $125 for primary school students
  • $225 for secondary school students.
  • How to Apply

Complete the  CSEF application form that was sent home today and return to Gail in the office.

    SAC - Expression of Interest

At the request of the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) board – our governing body, St Timothy's is re-establishing a School Advisory Council to support the principal, parish priest and leadership team of the school.

While no particular expertise is required, the school seeks people with a range of diverse skill sets to best advise the principal, united by a desire to provide the best possible education for our students.

A balanced membership with parent voice on the School Advisory Council is well-placed to advise the principal about important matters, particularly those related to the school’s mission and students’ success.

The needs of the council will be given priority in terms of ensuring a balance of gender, cultural diversity and skill sets.

Therefore, we are calling on you to express your interest in being part of the School Advisory Council. If you are a member of the parish or have children in the school and wish to be part of this exciting development, we would welcome your application in writing to Anne Maree Jones by  8th April.

    'GOD F COMPASSION & LOVE'

In the scriptures this week, we read of God’s self-revelation and of his relationship with his people. This relationship is one of great love, but also contains an awareness of our fragility. Hence we heard of God’s warnings, his continuous forgiveness and patience, and his offers to us to start again.

The First Reading from Exodus recounts the call of Moses and the revelation of God’s sacred name. St Paul, in the Second Reading, reminds us that, although we are baptised, we too can fall, as the chosen people did, despite being guided by Moses.

Jesus, in the Gospel, calls us to repentance, but reminds us, in the parable of the fig tree, that God is slow to anger and rich in mercy. We can therefore join with the Psalmist in praise and thanksgiving to the God of compassion and love.

Perhaps this week, we can allow our readings to remind us not to be complacent, but to listen to God’s word and never forget his blessings.
