Principal`s Report

 Student Safety

In the last four weeks there have been several reported incidents of children being approached by a stranger/someone unknown to them across the broader Central Coast. From the description on the reports, quite likely they are all different individuals and unrelated events. However, in the interest of identifying patterns and putting in control measures, it is important that I bring this matter to your attention.  Please take the time to discuss the importance of this issue with your children when travelling to and from school, whether on the bus, walking or being dropped off at school.

School Photos

This Friday will be school photos. We expect all children to be in FULL school unfirm including black shoes / runners and white socks.

Wyong Public School has been signed up to the earn and learn program. Woolworth’s stores will soon have WYONG PS boxes placed at Lakehaven, Wadalba and Tuggerah stores and one will also be in the school front office. So we ask if you do happen to shop at these stores to look for the Wyong PS boxes to drop in the earn and learn stamps, otherwise they can be dropped off at the front office.

We are expecting the reward box very soon. Thank you to the P and C for organising this.

PBL 2019

Hi Everybody

Our PBL lesson for this week (wk 8) is:

Minding Your Manners

And this one makes Robbie Respect feel really happy!

The behaviour code for all NSW public schools state:

In NSW public schools students are expected to:

·         Respect all members of the school community and show courtesy to all students, teachers and community members

Our lesson this week will highlight this and also help to prepare our students for later life. Manners are a skill that can give our kids an advantage in employment and negotiating the wider world.

Please feel free to join us in highlighting good manners and noticing the effect using good manners can have.

Next week (wk 9) our PBL lessons will be highlighting our school emergency procedures and making sure our staff and students know what they can do in the case of an emergency at school or in our local community during school time.

We will be conducting drills and ask that, if you happen to be here during a drill, that all volunteers and community members at school cooperate with staff fully.

Scope IT

The first session for Scope IT was held on the Thursday 14th of March. Students in Years 3-6 began creating their own app and students from Years 1-2 explored how 3D printing works.

Everyone is looking forward to the next session!
