We are now officially over the mid -term hump and on the road to the end of the 2020 school year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our P&C for its ongoing support of the school through a year when access to the school has been very limited. My thanks goes to the P&C executive who kindly offered to stay in their roles until next year's AGM. This has meant a great deal in terms of stability for our P&C. Some of the parents have students who are moving on to Year 2 next year, so their willingness to continue their support of the school is greatly appreciated. Thank you Kate Murphy (President), Katie Draper (VP), Louise Erikson (secretary) and Zara Houlker (treasurer).
Thank you to all of the other parents and carers who volunteer for snack canteen and uniform shop and to the families who support all of our fundraising. Despite the fact that the P&C has lost funds due to special events being cancelled, in 2020 they have funded our new signage, full purchase of the SeeSaw licence, purchased and installed a new bubbler with a bottle filler and hand washing facilities and have bought new readers for K-2. They are also paying for the Year 2 medallions for presentation Day.
And when all that is not enough, they want to help more with their latest online fundraising drive. Families, their friends, work collegues, neighbours .... all have the opportunity to do some online Christmas shopping for crazy socks, wine and gingerbread house kits. All the money raised will be donated to the school towards a beautiful new sensory path and garden , near the back of the toilets. Students will be able to walk along an sensory path to the playground and will have sandstone seating and sensory plants to enjoy around the big gum tree in that area. The design looks amazing and work is due to commence in the first week of December and should be complete for our end of year celebrations. Thanks for your support so far, keep the orders coming in and keep nagging all your friends and family!!
Don't forget that the P&C are also wanting to create a 70 year anniversary cookbook for next year and would love to capture your favourite recipes. We would especially like some from our current Year 2 families before they leave the school. It doesn't have to be an original recipe, as long as you identify your source. Please send in your recipes on the sheet attached. It will be a beautiful book and keepsake.
