This will be the final newsletter for 2019.
Even after the short time that I have been here it is obvious that Concord Public School is a happy, well organised school. A perfect learning environment for your children!
Last week we met to say thank you to all the volunteers who support the school. I was able to say thank you on behalf of the teachers for the assistance they receive from the many helpers who attended. I am aware not all volunteers could attend so thank you very much to all those who have supported the school. Your time and energy is appreciated.
This week we saw the return of the bell. A huge thank you to Harry’s Shed of City of Canada Bay for the outstanding job they did on the refurbishment of such a treasured school icon. Thank you also to Lenny Chuproff, a father at CPS and volunteer for coordinating the project with Peter Stokes together with Alan Fong, Danny Ko, Bruce Mitchell, Colin Petersen and other memebers of the Shed who helped. I know everyone is looking forward to the special ringing on the last day of school.
The students reports will be send home on Friday December 13. Ms Vountoulas has informed the staff that when the students return in 2020 they will return to their 2019 classes for an opportunity to reconnect with their previous teacher and class members. This will give everyone a chance to share holiday experiences as well as returning to a familiar setting. They will be placed in their new class before the end of the first day.
To the families of our Year 6 students and any other families leaving the school thank you for your support and interest in the school. We wish your children good luck in their future education. Next year Ms Canalicchio, Ms Kopkoson, Mrs Dogra and Miss Abboud will be moving onto other schools and we thank them for their work in the school and wish them a continued successful career .
Finally on behalf of Ms Vountoulas I would like to thank the staff for their positive commitment to the school and its students. I have noticed that they dedicate many extra hours in supporting school programs. A special thank you to Mrs Posavac, Mrs Annetta, Mrs Malizis, Mr Thomson & Mr Thomas for their outstanding work in supporting the students, staff and community. I hope they all take time over the holidays to spend with their families and get time to enjoy their favourite interests.
Congratulations to Mr Destefano on his upcoming wedding. I am sure you join with me in wishing him a happy day and future with his wife.

The last of the Principal and Pennant Awards for 2019 will be given to the students on Monday 16 December at the 9am school assembly under the Cola.

Hello all,
Our last P&C meeting saw a very successful outcome for the school with all events being approved for the calendar in the upcoming year. We also ratified a raft of projects for the new year with forecast spending aligned to those projects. The school looks forward to those outcomes and with your help we can initiate them all in a short amount of time. I underline we need your help though. So volunteer for a sub committee and work with the school and P&C executive to make a big difference in the children’s lives and have fun at the same time. On a personal note I would like to thank the teaching and administrative staff along with other members of the CPS school community for their generous and heart felt support to my family in a difficult time. Makes me realise the great people at this school. To Leigh and Chiara a very special thank you for holding all this stuff together. Thank you.

COOSH is no exception as we have been busy crafting a JAM-PACKED Vacation Care Program for 2019/20 full of fun and different activities for the kids (even though parents may be wishing they could attend once they see what we have in store!!).
