Attendance and Absences

Parents of children from Kindergarten to Year 6 must ensure their children attend school every day. On occasion, your child may need to be absent from school. Justified reasons for student absences may include:

  • being sick or having an infectious disease
  • having an unavoidable medical appointment
  • being required to attend a recognised religious holiday
  • exceptional or urgent family circumstances e.g. attending a funeral

Parents must provide an explanation for absences to the school within 7 days from the first day of any period of absence. Where an explanation has not been received within the 7-day timeframe, the school will record the absence as unjustified on the student’s record.

Library Borrowing

It’s great to see so many eager readers, and readers who are persevering to ‘Read Up!’

‘Read Up!’ is our reading goal. It means reading a book that is a little challenging, and sticking with the book by reading some of it often.

Borrowing Days for Term 1:

Mondays – 4/5W

Tuesdays – 3/4H

Wednesdays – 3/4B, 3/4C, 5S, 6T, 6S

Thursdays – 1/2R

Fridays – KJ, KB, 1/2B, 1/2S, 1/2F

MC Class borrowing days are to be announced after other activities have been scheduled.

Please Note: All students are able to borrow books during Library Recess

What to bring for Library on your library days?

  • Return book

  • Library bag

Older students who are reading small novels seem to prefer to bring in a plastic envelope as a library bag.

2020 Resource Packs and School Uniforms

Resource Packs are still available from the office for years K-6.  Purchasing these packs from the School gives you amazing savings as we are able to pass on our bulk buying discount  to LEPS families.  To purchase a Resource Pack from the School ensures all students have exactly what the classroom teacher requires.  Our Resource Packs offer top quality products at reduced prices.

Uniforms are available from the Canteen on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8.30 - 10.00am.

Term 1 Primary Sport Program

Primary sport began last Friday 9.15-11am and will run up to Week 8.  All primary students and Year 2 students turning 8 this year will participate.  Each Friday the students will be participating in field events; high jump, long jump, discus and shot put.  Students will be taught the skills, and have the opportunity to practise their skills.  Measuring jumps and throws will take place each fortnight and the top 8 students will go through to the next round at the LEPS  Athletics Carnival in Week 9 Term 1.  All students will have the opportunity to compete in track events (running) on the Carnival day.
