Before & After School Playground equipment and School Gates

The safety and protection of our children is of the highest priority.

To ensure we are able to provide this care we ask parents  and students to leave the school premises after the bell at 3.00pm.

The playground equipment is out of bounds before and after school for all children and can only be used when a teacher is supervising the equipment area.

If a child's parent is late or they have not been picked up they must come straight to the office and will need to be collected from the office.

For the safety of our students, the gates will be closed at 9.05am each morning and opened at 2.45pm in the afternoon. All visitors must sign in at the office if entering the school between 9.00 - 2.45pm.

Students who arrive after 9am will need to come to the office for a late note before going to class.

SRC

In SRC Training we got to meet and learn about new people, we also played a game to match all the peoples names to the correct person and a lot more fun activities about learning new leadership qualities. One of the games we played were knots and crosses, boys vs girls, the boys won and the game, knots and crosses taught us how to communicate with our peers. Some of the leadership qualities we learnt during the SRC Training are Communication, Socialising, Sharing and getting to know each other, we also got to eat some delicious pizza at lunch. After, we did a sheet that asked us about how our day went and what we learnt during the SRC Training. It was a really fun day learning about leadership skills and getting to know our other leaders.

National Plastics Summit 2020

Congratulations to Cobalt (Year 5) who has been chosen to be be part of the Children’s Taskforce that will be working on ideas about how to address Australia’s growing waste challenge and then presenting those ideas back to the main Summit later in the day. During the day the children will have a session with Alan Finkel, Australia’s Chief Scientist, lunch with the Governor General, and a possible meeting with the Prime Minister!

Plastic has been a revolutionary material. It allows us to mass-produce lightweight products and packaging cheaply. Plastic makes our lives convenient. But plastic litter is also one of the most insidious forms of pollution. Around 80% of marine litter is plastic. It is estimated that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by weight. We need to act now to identify and stop using the plastics that we can’t manage effectively.

Minister Sussan Ley is hosting the National Plastics Summit in Canberra on March 2, 2020.

The National Plastics Summit will be a one-day forum in Canberra convening a cross-sector of 200 senior individuals from government, industry and community sectors. The Summit will showcase and identify new solutions to the plastic waste challenge and mobilise further action from governments, industry and non-government organisations. The Summit will also identify new opportunities to directly address targets under the National Waste Policy Action Plan.
