PRINCIPAL'S NEWS

How is Rawlinson Primary School Funded?

Government funding for Rawlinson Primary School is calculated in the first three weeks of the school year by counting the number of students who turn up for school.

Enrolment at the school is not part of this calculation, if you are not at school you are not counted.

A large portion of our students travel overseas during the Christmas period and do not return until week 4.  We miss out on being funded for them.

If you are going on holiday and won’t be back till week 4, February 24th , 2020,  it is essential that we know and have written confirmation that you are on holidays but will be returning to Rawlinson Primary School late.

With written confirmation we can count your children and the school will be funded for the year to have them here.  Please give this letter to either your child’s current teacher or to the office stating that you are on holidays and the date you will return.

Much appreciated.

ATTENDANCE

The Kindy students have been replaced by the Year 6 students, who have the top attendance rate.  Well done Year 6 students!

An outstanding result from the P/P, Year 1’s, Year 4’s and Year 6 students, who have increased their attendance this reporting period.  An awesome job everyone!

The Year 2 students have maintained their percentage so well done to them.

What a pleasing effort everyone.  Nearly all year levels finishing the year in the nineties.  Fantastic.

Let’s hope 2020 starts out on top with all year levels beginning in the nineties.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.  See you back next year.

FUNDRAISING UPDATE

Movie Night

Thanks to everyone that helped out pre, during and after the movie night. We can’t run these events without help.

We raised just under $1500 which is fantastic.  Congratulations to all the raffle prize winners.

YEARLY TOTAL

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing Rawlinson families and friends you have helped the P&C to raise just under $12,000 this year.

That is an AMAZING effort.

I would like to personally thank Karen Cunningham and Shane Warnock for all their hard work and commitment through our P&C at fundraising events.

They have made an enormous contribution to our school and we were very lucky to have their support.

Have a wonderful Christmas, looking forward to some great events in 2020.
