Dear Community
Welcome back for Term 3 everybody!
As you will be aware from the Skoolbag notification earlier in the week, we are starting the term with the same COVID restrictions that were in place at the end of Term 2. This includes:
- No parent access to school buildings without a prearranged appointment.
- Vacating the school site by 3:20pm each afternoon.
Please continue to respect our community by adhering to these requirements.
Our efforts to ‘do the right thing’ to date is what has made it possible for us to restart several activities this term, including the following:
- Netball training for the Scarborough team at school between 3:15 and 4:30pm on Tuesday afternoons
- Choir practice from 2:30 to 3:30pm on Monday afternoons
- Science Week (with an ocean theme) in Week 5
- Some form of sports carnival activities in Week 9
- Several P&C fundraising events including a Pyjama day in Week 2, Father's Day stall in Week 7 and a Crazy Hair day to finish the term
In more good news for our choir, the One Big Voice state-wide musical event has also been re-scheduled for Friday 13 November, which gives them an important event to practice hard for.
Assemblies
One of the regular events that we are still unable to resume is our assemblies. In lieu of these at the moment, our school captains, Caitlin and Shanika, are hosting a mini ‘on-air’ assembly on Fridays over the PA system. These assemblies feature an Acknowledgement to Country, the national anthem, the announcement of merit awards and any important weekly messages.
Today, students were informed that there will be two Faction reward events held this term, where the Faction who has earned the most Faction Tokens leading up to the reward will participate in an extra treat.
Uniforms
Over the next few weeks, one very easy way for students to earn Faction Tokens is by wearing their school uniform. Students can earn a token each day by making sure that they are wearing school coloured pants, shirts and jumpers/jackets. They do not need to have the school logo on them, but they do need to be the school colour (bottle green).
Jumpers, jackets and hoodies that are not school uniform colour, or have a logo or design on them are not appropriate for school, and students wearing them may be asked to remove them and be loaned a school jumper for the day if required.
Please read on below for information on some more information on happenings around our school, in particular, information from our wonderful P&C who also have some exciting things in the works for us this term.
As always, if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me
