Principal`s Report

I would like to welcome you all back and thank you for showing confidence in our school by trusting us to educate your children. We would like to make a special welcome to all of our new families who have chosen Wyong Public School as their school. We have had a large number of new enrolments. Take the time to meet our staff and Parents and Citizens association. You will find them willing to help to make your time here a positive one. Our first meeting is 12th February, 2019 at 6 pm in the SACC room (modular building in the community room).

The first few weeks of school are exciting for all children as they are introduced to their 2019 teacher and classmates. All class numbers have been sent off to the department this week and we have had some increased numbers in a few grades. Children have been placed in their new classes. Due to larger numbers in years 2 and year 4 we have had to make some changes to ensure class numbers in these grades are comfortable. Therefore there has been some minor changes as follows. Children who are moving classes to accommodate these changes have been given letters today and will begin in their new class on Monday.

Year 1 classes – Miss Davies and Mrs Bishop

Year 1 / 2 – Miss Krechster

Year 2 – Mrs Pringle and Mrs Pass

Year 3 – Mrs Lane / Shelley share a class and we have a 3 / 4 class with Mrs Sturgess

Year 4 – Miss Cruwys and Miss Norman

The partnership between home and school has an enormous impact on student learning and respectful communication is the key. Our staff are more than happy to discuss any concerns that you may have in a respectful manner so that we can build positive relationships that support your child’s learning. To enhance our communication with you I ask that all parents sign up to Class Dojo so that effective communication can be maintained between home and school.

Student Book Packs are now on sale. This year the cost of the book pack is still only $55.00 and includes the cost of bus and entry into the Athletics Carnival and also the attendance fee for Life Education (Healthy Harold). The Kinder contribution of $30.00 also includes the cost of bus and entry into the Athletics Carnival and Life Education. Book Packs and Kinder contributions can be paid for at the front office, or online via the School website.

Please note that we have the school swimming carnival on 25th February, 2019. It is always a terrific way to start the year and is open to all children from 8 years (turning 8 in 2019) of age.

I ask that parents take note of the payment due date for the carnival as we cannot accept payment after the due date, as buses and entry costs need to be finalised beforehand. Please ensure you understand the requirements of your child’s swimming ability and note this on the attachment of the note.

I look forward to meeting our new families and students and having a productive year at Wyong Public School.

Yours sincerely,

Todd Miladinovic

PRINCIPAL.

Camp Australia

To help families prepare for the new school year, bookings for Outside School Hours Care are now open for 2019.

So we can care for all students at your school, we do recommend families register an account with us and always book in advance.

Why register? To attend our care, parents/guardians must register their child with us by completing an online enrolment form via our parent portal. It’s very important that parents/guardians fill out all compulsory enrolment documentation for their child and notify us of any medical conditions, illnesses and other, to ensure the health and safety of all children in our care.

Families can register for free at https://pp.campaustralia.com.au/account/register-contacts

If you have any questions regarding this email or would like us to send you an article for your next newsletter about the above, please contact your Key Account Manager Emma McMullen on 0428 506 207.

Kind regards,

Camp Australia
