From the Principal

Listen with the ear of your heart…

We are one community with all of creation,

part of the exuberant universe teeming with novelty and diversity.

Together we emerge out of the fullness of God’s love

and remain held in existence by that love.

Dear Families,

What an exciting week we had last week.  Catholic Education Week coincided with Aboriginal Reconciliation Week and provided us with many opportunities to learn and reasons to celebrate.

Our launch on Monday gave us the chance to break open the theme for CEW - Listen with the Ear of your Heart.  Throughout the week we have developed this theme through prayer, music, reflection, community gatherings and investigations both within and beyond our community.

Thanks to everyone who joined us during the week.  You helped us to celebrate belonging to a community that authentically expresses the Gospel messages of welcome, inclusion and fullness of life.

Eileen

Catholic Education Week / National Reconciliation Week

Thanks to Adam, Caitee and the Choir for their participation in the 'Diggings Mass' at Sovereign Hill.

Other celebrations for the week included :

  • 3/4 LC Listen with the Ear of your Heart activity and family picnic in the McInerney Centre.
  • Foundation LC Shared Family Lunch
  • 5/6 LC Grandparents afternoon
  • Deb's 5/6 LC visited the library to celebrate National Reconciliation Week

Congratulations Jason

At a Diocesan dinner during CEW we celebrate people who have provided 30 years of service to Catholic Education.  This year we celebrated Jason Spark's passion for learning and teaching and the huge commitment he has made over the past 30 years. Jason's creativity, attention to detail and celebration of the unique gift of each individual child have meant that he has made and extraordinary and lasting impact to generations of students.  We congratulate and thank him.

Olivia McKeegan will be in the Library to assist you and your children with book borrowing until 4pm Monday to Friday. Note: children must be accompanied by an adult and this is for borrowing time only.

Reading aloud with your child throughout their primary school years has significant, positive effects on their learning and reading skills. Listening to your child as you read together also builds their social skills and confidence as they engage with you, and the quality time that you spend with them raises their mood and sense of wellbeing.

Not only that, your child will simply enjoy reading to you, and having you read to them. They won’t ever forget the special moments they had reading and sharing stories with you – and you won’t either.

Please come in after school and borrow more books. Take your time and discover the great resources our library has!
