Message from the Principal -

Dear Parents & Carers,

As we reach the half way mark of the school Term and the school is still alive with numerous student activity, can you please refer to our skoolbag app and website to assist you in keeping abreast of happening and upcoming events.

REMINDERS:

Staff Development Day: Term 2 is a ten week Term and will finish for all students on Thursday 4th July as Bogangar Public School staff will be engaged in a Staff Development Day. This will mean that students will return in Term 3 on Monday 22nd July.

ICAS

Just a friendly reminder that if you have a child in Years 2-6 they are eligible to sit the ICAS tests. Please refer to the note posted on our Skoolbag app or collect a detailed information sheet at the front office, if you would like to participate. A sitting fee for individual tests is required along with confirmation of participation by Monday 3rd June, 2019.

Work Safety

Bogangar Public School aims to keep our learning environment a safe place. Visitors and volunteers are asked to report to the front office as there is a required procedure when entering the school grounds.  I also seek your cooperation to report incidents or hazards. This can be done by speaking to the administration staff in the front office. I thank you for your cooperation.

Car Parking

Parents, when accessing the school from the front gate, can I please ask you to be mindful of the safety of children.

I am aware of the limited car spaces available and will continue to work on a solution. However, we do need to keep the safety of our students at the forefront of our minds along with consideration for our families who need to access the designated disabled car parking spaces.

What's Happening Term 2, 2019 - Week 6 & 7

Sorry Day Reconciliation

To recognise these significant events, we held a special Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week assembly that acknowledged the past truths and encouraged us to walk together courageously towards Reconciliation.

We must thank Aunty Jackie McDonald for her traditional Welcome to Country, Aunty Tracey McKenzie for sharing her thoughts on Reconciliation and Uncle Magpie for our very first smoking ceremony to cleanse the energy and set the focus towards working together positively for a future where culture is everybody’s business.

We have all learnt about Reconciliation and the importance of grounding our knowledge of the past in the truth and we will complete the week together to create an art installation honoring the importance of this week.

P & C News

COLOUR FUN RUN

We’re holding the School Colour-Run as a major fundraising event this year!

The event will be held on Thursday 4 July (last day of term).

This is a sponsorship based fundraiser, and we’re looking to raise $29,000 for big commercial fans in the school hall so that our kids don't have to swelter through assemblies and activities, it's also nice for visiting parents and carers as well.

Keep your eyes peeled for the sponsorship forms which have been sent home with your child. Once you have the form, jump online at schoolfundraising.com.au and create a student profile page.

Once you do this and raise at least $1 online, you will be entered into the $20,000 Ultimate Family Experience!

Students who raise $10 or more will receive a reward, and the more money you raise the better the reward, and the more you help the school!

The School Colour-Run is a healthy fundraiser that we hope you’ll get behind. The event sends a message to students about having fun while being healthy, all while helping the school raise funds.

We’re looking for all students to participate and we’re organising a great day for our community, so we’d love everyone to come down to support our students and school.

If you have any questions about the Colour-Run please contact the School Colour-Run Office on 1800 FUN RUN.

Thanks for supporting our school, we hope to see you all at the event!

Woolworths Earn and Learn Program

Awesome effort Bogangar!

Don’t forget you can also put your stickers in the box at the school office.

Plus, there is now a large sticker sheet to fill up on the community notice board under the COLA.

Ask your kids to add some stickers when waiting in the morning.

Sticker sheets are also in the front office,  please help yourself.

Thankyou for your support!
