GARDEN CLUB NEWS

The Mansfield primary school garden has been blooming lately. The preps have been digging up potatoes and later on will plant new potatoes at the end of the year ready for next year’s preps. One of the preps said, “The potatoes were terrific, I had them as mash”. A member of the gardening team John said with Owen, “The potatoes were lovely and creamy”.

Raspberries have been a big hit and immensely popular. The cucumbers have been going bonkers this season, they have been massive and juicy. The tomatoes were slow but when they were ripped, they were exceptionally good. Nayte said “the tomato was big and juicy!!!”. The M.P.S garden is for all children in the school, there is even a teacher that helps with the garden. It is a terrific experience for everyone.

We would love some advice on our strawberries which have been disappointing this year. If you know something about growing strawberries, please contact the school. We would like to hear from you.

Our celery has unforcedly passed its day, but it makes room for other foods. M.P.S is proud to have a garden.

Art Room

A call out for small detergent, handwash, sanitiser bottles for the art room please. If you have any of these empty bottles that you are happy to donate to the art room, we would much appreciate the donations.

ART SMOCKS

All students should have their own NAMED Art Smocks that is kept in their classroom and bought to art classes. The school does not provide smocks. We are continually making a mess in the Art room and don’t want your child’s uniform to be stained.

FRIDAY 24th MARCH - NATIONAL RIDE 2 SCHOOL DAY

Join in the celebration and ride, walk, scoot or skate to school. Prizes will be awarded to the class with the most participation.

We hope you can join in the fun!

Because it falls on the same day as our Whole School Buddy Day we won’t be asking students to decorate bikes and helmets, but will be encouraging everybody to take part 😊
