"Out of This World" Crazy Hair Day

To celebrate our expo day and all things space, we will also be having an 'Out of This World' crazy hair day on the 6th of August.  Bring a gold coin donation and your wackiest space hair.  Think stars, planets, aliens... The universe is open to your imagination.

SWIMMING : PRE PRIMARY - YEAR 4

Monday 19th August - Friday 30th August

Craigie Leisure Centre

Swimming lessons for students in these years are scheduled for weeks 5 and 6 of this Term.  These lessons are held during school times and intended to have all children swimming at a capable level by the end of their primary school education.  All students will have 10 lessons.  (The Education Department funds the wages of the swimming teachers, but unfortunately, parents must meet the other associated costs.)

Swimming lessons are an important part of our Health and Physical Education program.  Apart from valid medical reasons, all students are expected to participate.

COST : $58 PER STUDENT

Please return the permission slip and money to your child's teacher by  Friday 9th August.

SCITECH INCURSION

A3 Students

The students from A3 attended the SciTech incursion on Tuesday the 30th of July.  Inside the dome we learnt about day and night, stars, planets and constellations.  In the workshop, our class was presented with a problem - An astronaut has landed on a new, very windy planet called Pancake Planet.  The students were asked to make a shelter that would stay standing in strong winds.  They worked in groups of 3 to build a shelter then the presenter made a windy day using a hair dryer and tested whether or not the shelters would stay standing.  The children had great ideas and thought that it was hilarious when all of their shelters were knocked over by the wind.
